My take was that Matt seemed very similar to how he was in the initial satellite interviews. I don't believe they are really his "cup of tea". Maybe sitting in a small room answering the same questions over and over gets a little tiresome? I thought he was pretty logical -- echoing what he said earlier about "having fun with the one" and also admitting that the immigrations issues "stress him out". He referred to the one as "my fiancee".

Nascar it didn't really seem like they are rushing down the aisle anytime soon from this interview. Matt mentioned he is going to stay in the states for "a little while" and "they" would go to the UK together after that. Also mentioned enjoying life, sorting out their careers and not "rushing" and travelling with his chosen. Then he started talking a little bit about how the immigration issues are stressful and complicated. He said that the proposal was moving and emotional and hopes that comes across to the viewers. What else? Oh he said it wasn't a straightforward decision but he always knew that there was something there with his chosen but he was thinking it was too good to be true for a little while. Mentioned they have a strong connection and good communication.

I think he probably couldn't wait to freely live their normal life and get to know each other privately. The immigration issue..I don't know much about UK immigration but as far as the US. Once you're engage to an American you have a right to get a Financee visa which will allow you to get your green card and SSN good to work in the US but then they will give you 60 days to get marry. They can extend it but most likely they can only extend it for another one month or so. I'm sure when he mention 'sorting out their career' meaning they want to figure out where are they going to live and where are they going to further their career which I have no doubt it will be in Hollywood. I can't wait for tonight and I'm more nervous than Matt..and his chosen one...

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread ~ Spoilers

I do find it very odd the LACK of media on ABC for tonights "Most romantic proposal" blah blah blah.. They are of course showing dancing with the stars and stay tuned for Samantha Who but no mention of the bachelor. I have also seen promos for the bachelorette. No mention of the bach finale. Really makes you wonder why Fleiss is down playing this one so much. (Not)

No, I don't think they should get married tomorrow, but if they are really serious, I would think we would see some discussion and some action on planning a wedding. I personally would like to a time line like Trista and Ryan had...
Trista was of an age to be desperate for marriage with her ovaries drying up, plus, she feared that if she didn't get the wedding off the ground soon it might not be slated as a major tv spectacular, and that wedding might be her last shot to become the media celeb she's obviously long yearned to be.

I don't think sensible people are likely to have a timeline, especially when the female person is considerably younger than Trista was. (not that I know these two are sensible -- for all I know they're complete jokers).... But Trista did have some extra reasons for wanting to get on with that wedding that a 22-year-old who is already an actress with a resume (and her guy, who seems to be figuring he'll get a media career of some kind anyway) just don't have.

So far as I can see, the only real reason for them to lay out some kind of timeline is so that the audience can see a completion to a reality-show competition. Not necessarily the best idea, I would say!

Statute of limitations is up on that one. November is free and clear.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread ~ Spoilers

i think they will go down the road of Andy and Tessa. Matt will have to go back to England, and they will tell us Shayne is to follow, and then for some reason she won't be able to go to England and the reason for the split will be the distance.

Or maybe Matt will stay in the US (not sure of the immigration rules) and we will see them both do the media tour and then they will split. JMO

Byron and Mary will be relieved to hear that, I imagine.

You have definitely made some very good points. I think though that they will need to set some sort of time line and/or goals for the future if they want their relationship to be successful.

I think the audience will follow them as long as it takes to see where their relationship takes them. People are still very interested in Mary and Byron. I think it is the nature of the show. If they want people to be interested enough in the show to watch the start of their romance, and thus give the show good ratings, then they have to realize that there is going to be interest in them after the show airs as well. Fans of the show will be watching the good times and the bad, and watching them to see if they do indeed get married and become the next Trista and Ryan. The scrutiny is not going to end just because the show is over. I think if Matt wants to move to the US and make it in Hollywood, then he is probably counting on the fact that their relationship will attract media attention for at least the short term...
