FORT flagged this immigration issue in the first 60 seconds after his identity was revealed as a difficult and likely relationship killing barrier. It doesn't take a genuis. You'd think with all those phone calls and rendezvous they would have sorted it out.

Instead he just keeps saying we're taking our time, time will tell, there's no rush.

WOW, the body language was incredibly telling. No joy here. At the end he slightly rallied, but honestly, I didn't see any incredible joy. At the beginning he was all to convincing that this decision really was tough. The things a foreign actor wannabe has to go through to break into show biz. Sorry, I see absolutely NO love here. I hope, for those that do see love,that I am wrong, I truly do. They STILL haven't any idea where they'll live??? Immigration issues? Hello, why go on American t.v. to find love?? He looks like an jerk and an idiot, imo, he knows it and he hates it.

If he was evasive and deceptive, then yup something is definately amiss and methinks he and TPTB are being odd about this whole season.... Now I don't think Shayne is F1 and that either Chelsea is F1 or he admits that he made a mistake letting amanda go and calls her back ( dreaming again.. *LOL*) If he does admit that, then yes I can see where the best bachelor comes into play here( he'd be the only bachelor ever to call someone back and admit he made a mistake right?)

Because as of right now, I do not see him as the best bachelor ever. maybe the funniest and wittiest definately but not best. I'm still not seeing that plot twist that Fleiss was talking about that he said even he couldn't have dreamed up unless it was the HTD prank which I don't think it is because I know he had to have dreamed that one up.. there's no way amanda could have done that on her own.

I watched the very choppy interview. My impression is he is very tired of these interviews. He gave the same stock answers we've seen for awhile. I did notice a twinkle in his eye when talking about the proposal. What he is stressing over and over, in this interview and all the recent ones, is what makes their relationship strong. That was the answer to every question - "we've got what it takes to get through this" I think this is telling. It is a strong relationship. I don't remember any other bachelor saying this.

Matt is very focused right now because it is quite hectic in his life at the moment: it is very intense watching the final episodes, the constant interviews, the cross-atlantic travel, and if the rumors are true - dealing with an illness in the family. He is in survival mode right now, probably counting the seconds until they can relax a little with the surprise element out of the way (but still deal w/ interviews and immigration) It is this strong relationship that will help them both in the long run.

One telling comment I heard: He said he kept thinking it was too good to be true - he said that same thing to Lorenzo (and in several PI's). Shayne said it too when talking with her sister.

I have heard that Matt was very tired and has been just drained these past few days.

Although it wasn't told to me directly, I think the jetlag is getting to him - as well as other things I am sure.

satorus,very good post. you are right no other bachelor has said "we've got what it takes to get through this" and to me means they have a strong relationship. I am glad you did notice a twinkle in his eye when talking about the proposal.thanks for posting this

Thanks aanjheni for the info. I'm sure all of the travelling and other stresses of this process are hard. Do you have any information on if/when Matt (and possibly his chosen) will be doing any other media?

Hey all,

My impression from the interview was that he contradicted what he said prior to and during the entire season: that he was ready to get married now. He kept making the case that time was an issue b/c of his dad, etc. and that he was anxious and ready to get on with marriage, kids, etc.

Yes, he was blah, but we could chalk it up to being tired, but we also saw him drinking in every episode. Those English cheeks were flushed and he always had that drowsy, lothario look going.

So maybe he's just being English. They are also less animated and more laid back than we are.

I saw that too casualfan. Hey, I just had a thought - you might have to change your user name to "more than a casual fan" with all the wonderful posting you are doing this season!

I'm sorry, I don't know what media they will be doing. I hope it is enough to keep fans happy but not so much as to make it nutso for the couple

Oh and I certainly don't feel sorry for him for the travel and stress and repeated questions. Comes with the territory, dude. From what I understand those "dates" go on into the wee hours sometimes and I didn't see him complaining when he was playing tonsil cricket with any of the girls on those late night dates. He wasn't bored and cavalier then!
