That is correct unless something has changed very recently. We were heavily pressured to become a Nielsen family, and in that process we were told the only thing they could not track was the DVR from the cable company or TIVO. These days, that's a significant number, so I'm sure they're working to change that.

I agree with K9Mom, the ratings are well-deserved. This has been the strangest season ever, and as I said somewhere, if this were Season 1, there would not be a Season 2. Also, the only promos during Samantha Who? or over the weekend for that matter were extremely brief and focused on Kelly, which is not the kind of ad that draws in the target audience for this show IMO.

I've mentioned before that the way they are marketing this season is strange. The promos are about frivolous activies such as the fashion show shirt taking off, Stacey's panties, and Kelly's tatas. We saw a flurry of interview activity with Matt right when the show started, but since then we haven't seen or heard much. Very few of the Bachelorettes are doing interviews, and if they are it is with their local papers. It could be because the general public is not interested or maybe another reason? I've also posted this, but they market Matt as a debonaire British banker. I don't think this does the same thing to women as say "The hottest bachelor who cooks eggs in his towel", or "the Navy doctor looking for his perfect Navy wife". If I want a British banker I could turn on CNBC. So this season I was prepared to not care for the Bachelor and was more interested in sleuthing. Lo and behold Matt is SO funny and witty. They could have at least shown some of that during the pre-show marketing. Instead they showed "Grant - Matt Grant..."

ITA - the marketing and everything else about this season are strange! And you're right - Matt Grant, banker, is not particularly sexy. I would love to just see more of the interactions played out and not so heavily edited. Obviously they can only show a small % of what actually occurs, but at least show complete scenes and splice-and-dice, use mis-matched voiceovers, and skip over significant portions of dialogue. I don't think Fleiss has to lead the viewers through the story all the time - we're smart enough to figure it out on our own, if you just simply show us the truth of what happens. Honestly, if it weren't for FORT, there is no way I would still be watching this season!

Thanks for letting us know casualfan! However, Amanda's time at the rose ceremony probably won't be shown, I mean it wasn't shown last night.

Going into the 5th show last season I felt like I knew ALL of the F4 really well. This season .... not so much.

"Escapade" I think is the perfect description of that whole set up! With Shayne, it's like watching Brittany or Paris or Lindsay or whomever the flavor of the day is. No wonder the ratings are going down. Each ep has been built around Shayne and her reactions. If she's not your cup of tea, there really isn't much left in the show to keep you tuned in.
