Exactly, it appears that focusing on Shayne is not the ratings booster Fleiss thought it would be. It's a sad situation that the only woman who any of the super creative video artists can use as a star is Shayne because very few of the others have actually been alone w/ Matt. I think if Fleiss would have left out just a tiny bit of Shayne in each show, people wouldn't tune out the way it looks like they are. It would also give way more time to show other ladies whom do not even have the oppurtunity to be shown on 1 episode at all.

Throughout today, I've visited several other boards pertaining to The Bachelor and I was amazed at how many people are turned off by Shayne getting so much time that she is actually hated by over half of the people on those boards. These people don't even sleuth!

Don't worry psucashcow, I'll be making a video with Amanda and Matt after next week's show even though it may be cut short due to no time being shown!!!

I totally used my sleuthing skills while watching a show on HGTV, my husband just laughed. They were keeping suspense "does she buy the place..?" and she was doing a PI sitting in front of a wall that was clearly in the place they were making you think she didn't buy. I went "A-HA!"

We could apply those skills to the Mole. I was tempted to do that for Hell's Kitchen, too (need to see if there's a forum for that show...).

I hope they don't cancel it, but if they do, I won't be surprised. The ratings are OK, but not great.

I agree about your point about shayne...I visit other bachelor boards as well, and they are not too happy with the "shayne show".....so if Fleiss wanted the viewers to love Shayne, its not happening.

I guess it appears that the only thing worse than picking no girl at all - is picking the girl that appears to be a set up!!

I wouldn't assume that the general viewing public doesn't like Shayne because they smell a set up. They probably saw her the way I did the first night - rather ditzy and immature. Combine that with the way she talked, especially in the first two episodes, and it's like nails on a chalkboard. (don't shoot me, my opinion changed.. somewhat..)

It's a shame people who didn't like Shayne in the first two episodes were turned off immediately and apparently changed the channel. She was much more likeable in the most recent episode, IMO. For the sake of the show that is definitely my guilty pleasure, and knowing she'll be around a while, I hope people give Shayne another chance...

While that is true that her edit was SLIGHTLY better this week - Fleiss has got to know that you only have a finite chance to impress the viewers. If your pilot stinks - chances are the show will flop...you have to get people to like you from the get go b/c with so many other options they won't stick around long.

I don't believe anyone on those other boards think that Shayne is a set up in any way either. None of the posts I've read said anything about her being a set up, about her family, etc. I really do not know why they don't like her, I've just heard many posts referring to how she gets on their nerves, her voice, immaturity, etc. Alot of people did say it's like the "Shayne Show" so I still think if Fleiss wouldn't have shown so much of her, they would have other girls on their minds to talk about besides Shayne. Do you get where I am going with this?

Anyway, I do think Shayne got redeemed a bit in this last episode, and I can only hope that she continues to be redeemed in the episodes to come!

I didn't see her sense of humor in the second episode but I sure did see it in the 3rd!

i<3realitytv, ITA with what you're saying - if they had shown SOME of Shayne, but balanced it better with some of the other girls. In fact, I think the only thing Fleiss thinks people want to see is fighting or kissing - I would actually enjoy just hearing more of the conversations between the girls, and with Matt. With all of the hours of filming they have, surely they have more to work with than what they've shown.
