Did he want to make her think that it was her fault for not opening up to him more that he cut her...
He blows smoke at a lot of them.."I miss you","You look great" ...It is hard to tell anything from what he says,but that comment I thought was unnecessary

ITA. The most fitting description that matches Shayne which Matt uses a lot is the word, "funny." So far I haven't seen any evidence of Amanda's or Chelsea's sense of humor. Another thing that stands out in my mind is his saying that he knew he was "in trouble" the moment he saw her which is similar to his instant attraction (to Shayne) statement in Ep.1. Although he said Amanda is his ideal woman type, he did not say he was instanty attracted to her.

Amanda had him laughing while they were dancing in front of the girls; he was laughing when they walked back to the rugby group after some time alone [where they put their arms around each other]; and they're also laughing in the convertible in the upcoming episode.

Chelsea had him laughing with her rotating her arms and wrists and the tongue-thing and with her wanting to arm wrestle him.

IDK, I think all of these girls have good senses of humor and think he could be describing any/all of them.
