So, yeah, when Shayne says she likes shoes, handbags, sun glasses and cars - materialistic. Whether she would give them up for the right person, if she had to, we don't know. Whether or not Matt's willing to take a chance on either her affording to keep herself in the lifestyle she's become accustomed , that's she'll give it up because he can't afford it or that he'll find a way to manage it - we'll have to wait and see.

Amanda and Chelsea appear to live on more of a similar materialistic level as Matt, so it just isn't as much of an issue with them.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread ~ Spoilers

I don't know as of right now, I am thinking his description for his final one is more of Shayne than anyone.....Other that the questionable materialistic (which is in the eye of the beholder) we have seen her display each of the other qualities he has said.....She has definitely made him laugh because he has said this. Shayne seems adventurous, outdoorsy, loves to tell stories also he said he likes for people to stand out but does it a bit different, I just see Shayne in that statement....

ITA, Something has been nagging me in Matt's interview with In Touch Magazine the comment he made "they agreed to take a cheaper flight so that could stay in a nicer hotel." Why would it be an issue? JMO, It appears there was some discussion and compromise.

Your comment about Amanda & Chelsea appear to live on a more of similar materialistic level as Matt, so it just isn't much of an issue with them.

Not necessarily... I had an inexpensive car that continually broke down. I kept it because I didn't care what kind of car I drove... once I added up the repairs for my car over two years, I realized I could have paid cash for another crummy car... Instead, I bought a more expensive car that had a maintenance package so I didn't pay for any repairs for the next two years... just gas... So the purpose for me to have an expensive car is that the upkeep was much less and when driving people around I wasn't embarrassed... So there are times when a more expensive car is a better choice and why "make do"? Who would "make do" when they have an option?

Nice Rant... I am humbled and confess to being materialistic...

I'm an admited lurker - for many seasons and on other message boards...

on the tvclubhouse board someone posted that "Christine" was from her hometown and did a radio interview.. I dont have much information - but was surprised no one from here posted or heard about it - I posed the question on what station - but so far havent received a reply... Her quote is as follows:

"Christine is from my town and she was on a local radio station Friday. She said she couldn't say alot because of the contract, but she did say that Matt whispered to her when she said goodbye, that he was very into her and he was sorry. She didn't come right out and say it, but the hosts asked if he was told to let her go even though he liked her and keep the ones that created drama and made for good tv, and she said basically it was a reality show scripted and edited like a drama show so infer from that what you want. So basically yes! She said he was nice, but the drama in the house was too much for her, so she was glad to be gone."

Thank you for the tidbit. I am hoping that this only means that Matt is permitted to keep the couple of girls he is seriously interested in, but encouraged to pick others for drama, NOT that the whole thing is a setup. Personally, I doubt the latter because I think Fleiss himself would opt for a true pairing. Frankly, and to be honest, it would make for pretty boring episodes 2, 3, 4, and 5 if the bachelor kept only calm, reserved girls who he felt were a remote possibility.

I think you can catch that on the show. She looks at Matt and says "oh, really" like she was surprised he told her that. I don't remember how much of what Matt says is audible. I thought she was very pretty. Loved her hiar.
