makes me think Amanda still has a chance in this. I just can't see Shayne being someone that Matt would talk about this way. From the quote about his parents I get the impression that they brought him back to reality. I think Shayne was his "fantasy". He's mentioned a few times that she's out of his league. We know he's starstruck by Hollywood. I think possibly he gets carried away but then comes back down to earth before the show ends.
Monday hopefully will give us a clearer direction for the season since right now we don't have any storyline except for Shayne.

Personally, I am not putting a lot of stock into what the bachelor says about his chosen one ... on the heals of Brad's "I can't wait to shout it from the rooftops", and his specific description of his "chosen one" ... and we all know how that turned out.

I am not getting the F1 vibe from that blog at all..just a girl who had fun and has moved on..no regrets..

Although I think Matt's descriptions so far have been the LEAST like Shayne - I can see where maybe he felt all of those things - after all we are seeing an edited Shayne...

there is just no way no how this describes Shayne...Someone who is also just, genuine, a sincere individual. And, there’s a lot of shallow people in the world, materialistic people. Someone who has depth and substance.

she herself has admitted she is materialistic...

the comments about his parents helping him to look to the future and not just the immediate thrill in a new relationship also points to some one other than Shayne...

BUT everything else I am hearing and seeing screams that Shayne is F1...Matt is not helping me believe that he really knows and loves Shayne if she is F1 - b/c clearly he would never make that materialistic comment if he really bothered listening to her and she was the F1...

I don't see how him saying someone genuine, sincere, with substance wouldn't describe shayne--she doesn't look to me to be lacking substance or sincerity--and honestly they have shown so little of each of the girls that there's no way to really tell who matt could be describing--but he did say that the chosen one made him laugh and we have been shown that shayne makes him laugh--matt even said so

Yes, that is true. But he also said that his chosen one is not materialistic, and someone w/400 pairs of shoes is materialistic. I don't mean it as a shot to Shayne because I have a lot of purses and shoes too, but this is where Matt gets himself into trouble when describing his chosen one -- that is if in fact his chosen one is Shayne..........

exactly - I was pointing out the materialistic part of it...which she is by her own accounts...

not a bad thing at all but something Matt specifically comments on that he does not like...

I actually said in that post - I can see where he sees everything else in Shayne but he can not claim she is not materialistic!!!

i see your point soccermama, but i think of someone shallow and materialistic as a person who cares about nothing but material things--people who could care less about other people or real world stuff and focuses only on material things---i have lots of bags, shoes, and sunglasses myself but i wouldn't consider myself shallow--so it could be that shayne appreciates nice things and like most girls loves shoes bags sunglasses, but isn't shallow. i guess my point is liking nice things and being shallow are different.

If we want to base his comment on a strict definition of what it means to be materialistic, then at this point, we don't have any way of knowing if Shayne is truly materialistic.

According to Cambridge Dictionary:
materialism:
the belief that having money and possessions is the most important thing in life

While I think it's safe to say that Shayne finds money and possessions important, I don't think we can say she finds them to be the most important things in life. I realize I'm getting highly technical here, but Matt could always say later that his comment was taken too literally and he does not find Shayne to be a truly materialistic person. I'm not saying I think Shayne is F1, I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

Right. And it's also assuming that our Bachelor is intelligent enough to know the precise definition of materialsitic instead of some guy who is one sandwich short of a picnic
