My fiance can't handle the way Brad talks. He says something about it every episode.

I have no idea how I would sound knowing that cameras and crew members were recording and listening to my every word. That might be how they normally sound, but it could also be caused by all the cameras and what not. As much as I'd try to ignore them, I don't think I'd ever forget they were there. Must be weird.

I feel DeAnna showed more emotion spewing her nastyness to the women in the house than she does in her statement to Brad. JMO.

He said "that guy isn't into the other girl" (meaning DeAnna) because of his body language....he said Brad doesn't lean into her to kiss her, he isn't as affectionate with her. I kind of smiled. To me, the entire sequence of shots with DeAnna seemed very edited to show only the poor interactions between the two of them or to make it seem like there was a poor connection to the average viewer. Would anyone else agree? Lynn what are your thoughts on this?
IMO, your husband is viewing like the average viewer, so they would definitely be "shocked," when he chooses DeAnna. The lovestory is hidden amongst the smokescreens (Bettina and Jenni).

I think Brad was picking up what DeAnna was putting down just fine. No problem with communication there at all...in fact, no words needed at all!

I'm pretty good at it but yes I've been wrong before.

He's far more comfortable (natural) with Jenni than Deanna who tends to make him more formal.

So the bottom line will be (it's hard to tell what he wants because of editing and they are showing a really lousy story this time IMHO) "WHAT DOES BRAD WANT?"

I'm sticking with Jenni. It's hard not to love someone who brings laughter to your life. We're not being shown the conversations between them.

LemonDrop, that is exactly what Fleiss wants the viewers to do. He wants us to get drawn into the women's character/personality, instead of the true lovestory. I know it's hard. I still liked Bettina, BUT I was able to see Brad and DeAnne's lovestory, from the beginning.

You mean like Brad showed more emotion in his anger with Bettina? Maybe DeAnna and Brad have similiar personalities, and maybe they just "gets it."

I really don't see Brad as emotionless when he speaks for the most part anyway. With DeAnna she showed a lot of emotion while she was arguing with Jade. I would think there would be at least a little bit of emotion in her voice while she was telling Brad she wanted to spend her life with him. It was like she was talking about the weather than a lifetime commitment with someone. My impression of Brad's reaction to it was of disbelief rather than happiness.

I have noticed this with DeAnna on several occasions, especially in her earlier interactions with Brad. I think a big part of the reason I don't feel DeAnna is honest is because of this. She always sounds like she is reading from a script of classic bachelor moments. Always having the right thing to say. Things that she thinks he wants to hear. Her voice always sounds so emotionless. Then add the blinking and head movements not very convincing to me. I am no body language expert but IMO she is not since and is doing a poor acting job. JMO of course but to me Brad does not look like he fully believes her. I said this after several of their talks. When he says really, or do you really mean that (whatever he says) he sounds to me more of a yeah right than an oh really thats great kind of reaction. But what do I know.
Brad has said himself , he has been wanting to hear thoses things from someone like DeAnna. So I think , he is probably so excited , that he wants to confirm them again and so when he asks her" do you really mean that". He is in total disblief , that someon like her is saying that to him. He's happy her feelings are what they are , because he is feeling the same way. IMO

Re: Body Language & Non Verbal Communication - *Spoilers*

Well, don't forget there was that huge cut/edit in the middle of the Deanna-Brad FD dinner, which we all noted right away because of her hair being down one second and up the next. We don't know what was said (or emoted!) during that cut.

Also, one reason this body language thread is so great is because even when we're scrutinizing words exchanged between Brad and the women, it is not only the edits that may be steering us wrong, but also the directors. Recall that Andy post-Bachelor said in an interview that they'd stop tape sometimes and ask him to rephrase something he'd just said. Andy said he was reprimanded for using "big words" sometimes, and would be asked to restate what he'd just said using simpler English.

So, any given scene we see broadcast could absolutely be the second or third or fourth "take" of what started out as a genuine exchange but then became, through direction, something less than that.

Looked at as bullies by the other women, Chris did not call Deanna/Mccarten bullies and I have watched it quite a few times......
