Re: Body Language & Non Verbal Communication - *Spoilers*

I just read a little about Body language and courtship behavior, and there is a lot of emphasis on the fact that woman initiates most of the signals. Leaning forward by the woman is a sign of attraction and also giving the man "permission". Also, synchronized body movements are quite far into the progression of the mating dance.

I have to admit, that we have seen this synchrony and the progression more with Deanna. This is not to say that it hasn't happened with Jenni, but we haven't seen it.

All things considered, it is hard to judge what is actually happening, and/or if the edit emphasis is Fleiss trying to tell a love story, or Fleiss trying to keep us guessing and fooling us.

From the How to Read Body Language on wikipedia....

"Lowered heads indicate a reason to hide something. Take note if someone lowers their head. If it is when he or she are complimented, he or she may be shy, ashamed, timid, keeping distance from the other person, in disbelief, or thinking to herself. If it is after an explanation, then he or she may be unsure if what they said was correct. "
*Hand over mouth: generally negative; often denotes disapproval or reluctance to speak openly

*The hand is also used to conceal the mouth when it will betray emotions that may be undesirable. Thus we put our hands over impolite giggles and smirks. This may also be a reason for hiding a yawn. We also cover the open mouth of surprise and the downturned mouth of sadness.

I agree with you because right before that SC , he had a big grin that he tried to conceal. Believe me, I know that scene by heart and I daydream about the kiss that will follow .

And I thought he was choking up and maybe even wiping a tear away. We really do see what we bring to it, don't we!

Great analysis cynicgal.

I wonder what Deanna was thinking as she saw his lack of response (other than biting his lip and covering his mouth) when she was telling Brad that she was falling in love with him.

Well after ,him biting his lip and covering his mouth. The kiss that came next was more then enough if she had any doubts. IF he was NOT picking her , no way would he have kissed her like that. He could have given her a little peck with his mouth closed. like he does to Jenni.. JMHO

Something else that I finally came to understand is that a good many of the times it is all an illusion! I wanted to believe that what I saw were the wonderful romantic love stories that just didn't make it in the real world under real situations; therefore, they crumbled and fell apart.

In essence what I came to realize was that many times the Bachelor chose the bachette that would be the easiest to dispense with after the designated time was up.

The first time I came up against this was when I bemoaning the fact that Bob had not chosen Kelly Jo when the chemistry between them was so wonderful. This poster plainly told me that it would be much easier for Bob to get rid of Estella as Kelly Jo would hang onto him for dear life. Bob did get rid of Estella, not quite as quickly as some, but pretty fast. We know shortly after Bob married that soap opera star.

Jesse chose Jessica who was in law school. That was a good easy out because during the HT visit her folks had questioned her going to school. Bye, Jessica.

Travis chose SaraS who lived in his hometown and it was a snap not to have to do anything over Moana who lived in California and would have dedicated her whole life to him.

Lorenzo chose Jennifer who was a teacher and was tied to a school year contract across the country - it was really easy to end that relationship - over Sadie who was already planning to move to NYC.

It's not very romantic, but I do wonder if there really isn't a strong connection, does the Bachelor select the one that has circumstances in which he can easily end it with her after the show is over.

Here again it is all in the eye of the beholder. I see them both leaning towards each other. Also, I do believe he was trying to hide his grin (undesirable I don't know). Then I would take the kiss that followed any day.

That's what I've been thinking since I first saw it. But we have to face reality, everything is possible on this show. However, if Brad was able to kiss DeAnna like THAT without being in love with her, he should go to Hollywood. I can't remember having seen a kiss in a movie that convinced me so much of the couples' love (and yes, they aren't in love in movies, but they're supposed to look like it).
