You're completely right about how it depends on what season it happens. If Tessa and Danielle were on this season (for example), DeAnna's comments would've been considered more universally as negative. But because there's other (worse) catty girls in the house, it's seen differently. Plus, Fleiss made us like her the first two episodes, so it's easier to forgive and forget.

As for Deanna and the recent episode and her 'honest' moments. *ahem* Those of you who have pointed out that in another season she would get reamed for this behavior are correct. However, everything is relative. In this particular season, similar to the Travis season, the girls are in full cattiness/bitchiness mode and so compared to some of the other girls, this go round, what she said was pretty dang mild. In contrast, for example, if this same conversation had happened last season, where most everyone got along in the house, she would have probably been universally loathed on the boards for being a witch. It really all depends on which season you're watching, IMO. Deanna's comments all by themselves, without McCarten taking it farther with her comments.. or without Hillary or Jade, she would probably stand out more. As it is, what she said DOES come across as honest, or at least.. forthright.

As for recognizing the edits, no one is ignoring the fact that we're getting a highly edited version of ALL of the girls, including Deanna. However, as I said above, what we've been shown of Deanna, on the grand scale of catty behavior, she doesn't look as bad when compared to McCarten, Jade and Hillary.

Hillary, for example, yes, it's the edited version of Hillary. I understand that completely. But, I stand firm that they can't edit what you don't give them. They didn't put the words in her mouth. Were they induced by the producers? Most likely. Did she feel like she was in a 'safe place' and so tried to be funny and snarky amongst friends? Yes to that, too.

I personally think she has taken it too far on more than one occasion, so for me, she's the new queen of the catty girls in the house this season and I'm finding it hard to watch. Edit or not. I also think the irony of her complaint against Deanna - that she's one way with Brad and another way with the girls - is part of the reason I'm quickly losing patience with her and the other 'mean girls'. I much prefer seasons where the drama is more minimal and they don't shun one or more of the girls. I do feel a little sorry for Hillary because I think it's a VERY safe assumption that she was manipulated by the producers. That doesn't make me want to like her, unfortunately.

What's done is done, she and Jade and McCarten and Deanna etc. can't take the words back (even if she would) and now they all have to live with them.

I like Deanna, so far, because she's come across as no-nonsense and pretty. She's been hurt, but she seems stronger for it. That's about all I know about her at this point. What other reason do we like anyone on a reality TV show?

It helps, too, that I have issues with the other of the F3, Jenni's laugh bugs me, other than that I like her, too. Bettina, seems VERY sweet, but there's something about her that I can't warm up to (I think it's her hair, I want to give her a hot oil treament or something . I want to like her since she seems vulnerable and very much attracted to Brad and half in love with him. I'm trying to like all of them, I'm just not there yet.

Excellent post. Not long to read. Every point well made.

I have read others thinking of the 2 on 1. Would that be a first. Is it for us empathize for DeAnna and to cheer for DeAnna, will that mean she will be F1. Last year most of us felt sad for Peyton. A very different feeling from this year, when most of us can't wait to see Jade get the boot. She was the one that caused pain to Jenni. (Last year at one point both Tessa and Peyton, looked out the windows, I think that is standard. Last year they were friends but they were both there for Andy. What a difference to this years ITM before the date.)

The point you made looking at each season, is so important. I agree, I only look at the women of that season. The dynamics are based on who is in the house. Would DeAnna have been as out there if there was not much bickering?

I also realize that the women are told to discuss the bachleor, or a ceertain topic etc. I do not know, if they are they directed to say a certain sentence in a conversation.

I'm almost afraid to watch the 2-on-1. I have a feeling they (the producers) are going to make it uncomfortable for us to watch, regardless of if that's how it went down or not. I want to see the other girls reactions when DeAnna is the one to come back, though they didn't do that with Tessa last season. It just showed them talking about who they thought was coming back. I know we see them taking the suitcase away, but I want to see the actual moment she walks through the door. Sometimes the best part of the show is watching other people's reactions to things.

I find DeAnna to be smokin' hot! There isn't much I'm an expert on. I am an expert on ogling hot women and all 3 are hot! Who you make as 1, 2, 3, is all a matter of taste but the hotness cannot be denied for any of them.

I always say "Are we watching the same show?" Every year, every episode it totally shocks me.

I make it a major point not to let my opinions of the women, interfer with what I think of the other board members. I know the season gets finished and the following season, is a new season, sometimes we like the same women and sometimes we do not.

I am remaining positive. I do not think Jade will do anything to risk going home. She already told about the portfolio would she risk having Brad think she is being catty.

I agree, I can't wait to see everyone's face when she walks back home. I think most of them know that they have a strong connection.
