I don't recall if Selma specifically mentioned where the charity event was.....I assumed it was in NY, but that may simply be because I know Ellen is taped there......

I tried finding transcripts online for today's show, but was unsuccessful......are you sure she said the event was in NY????

Ellen is taped in Los Angeles.

SALMA HAYEK has a real-life Prince Charming to thank for returning pricey jewellery to her when it ended up on the back seat of a taxi cab. The pretty Latina picked out $50,000 (GBP27,800)-worth of rented jewellery to show off at a recent New York benefit and her assistant left it in a taxi. Fortunately for the actress, LORENZO BORGHESE - the royal star of new US reality series THE BACHELOR: ROME - was the next person to hail the cab. Lucky Hayek says, "I just took something really simple and they took the rest and the poor girl that brought me the jewellery left it in a taxi. "The guy that's like the prince in The Bachelor gets in the cab right after that girl, somewhere random in New York and sees an envelope that says 'Salma Hayek'. "He called (TV network) ABC and said, 'I think Salma Hayek just lost $50,000 worth of jewellery,' and they gave it back. Isn't that fantastic?" Hunky Borghese, who is related to historical French leader NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, has an Italian title, passed down from his ancestors in the 1600s.

I saw that too. WOW, what a coincidence. There has been so much cross promotion that I wouldn't be surprised to hear that, unbeknown to Salma, Fleiss arranged the whole thing. Once we heard about him trying to get the Pope on camera. . . I'm not saying that I'd feel that PLo was in on it though. What would the chances be, of course I'm sure that the jewelery deliverer got out at ABC and PLo got in that cab at ABC.


Also, for what it's worth, Skip made a couple of comments last night on HSN about being upset that his brother got rid of the "Italian bird". (Strange term, hopefully used in Italy.) He called PLo, who explained why he dumped her and then he was fine with it. Also, of course, the ending is "really surprising."

Girlsmom, did he expound at all about the comment "ending is really surprising"?
I don't watch HSN, so i'm curious, does Skip just randomly talk about his family while promoting his products?

Skip is a real character. I only have watched for clues, so I don't know all of what he's said because I'll hear him comment about the bachelor and I'll then tune out. GREAT products, but I don't use them. My impression is that he likes to rib his brother. Last night he called him"the newest t.v. star in the family". Amanda sits there and says nothing about it. Something will come up in the conversation and then he'll comment: first night Amanda was talking about someone having a harem and using an aphrodisiac; Skip chimed in and said that sounded just like her son. . .her younger son. Last night they were showing family pictures as part of the huge 10th anniversary on HSN celebration. That's when Skip make his comments after everyone was identified.
