No I could never drink much. If you watch them you can see who thinks they are able to handle it, and who gets maudlin and weepy. Let's not forget to add the female black widow spider to that list. She typically eats the male after mating. I am not sure what Courtney's ultimate goal was for going on this show, but I am convinced that she was not there to marry Ben. She better have some thick skin, or maybe she just does not give a da*n about what anyone thinks about her afterwards, because she is taking a beating in the blogs. I do agree with all of you who think that Courtney will be Ben's F1, though.
I have read some of Courtney's mother's comments on the website Wetpaint. A couple of things stood out to me in those interviews. Her mother first stated that she did not think that Ben was good-looking enough for her daughter....that she had dated much better looking men in Hollywood. And her mother also said that Courtney was not the kind of girl who was looking for marriage and had indeed recently broken off relationships with men once she found out that they were looking for a serious relationship. So, there you have it.
And I go back and forth when trying to decide whether Ben is getting "played" by Courtney or is just a "player" in this farce. I tend to lean toward the "player" who got "played" by the producers. I could see Ben telling the producers early on that he had no intention of finding someone to marry but was willing to go along with them bringing in a woman who he would pick at the end. And once the show aired, he would break up with her within a few months afterwards, and everyone would feel that it was justified because she was so evil. However, if that was the case, it is looking like the producers are JUST making Ben look like he is the biggest doofus who ever got played by this woman, and I don't think this is setting well with Ben....considering the beating that he is taking in the media and by the public right now. Either way, this isn't looking good for Ben, and I can't wait to see these two together at the AFTR episode.
That makes sense. I see just another in a long line of skanks who use their sexuality as their claim to fame, and unfortunately, they do seem to get what they want, including a lot of national and even international exposure (no pun intended) with no talent to back it up. Look at the fascination with Kim Kardashian, who emerged on the scene as the result of a porn video, no talent and not a very nice person as far as I can see ... Paris Hilton, no talent and also a member of the Porn Video Hall of Fame ... Snooki, whose main talent seems to be in her cleavage and propensity to hook up, and the list goes on and on. Who makes these women famous? We do! I don't know how Courtney got on this show or why, unless she's looking for her own reality show and a spread (no pun intended) in Playboy. Maybe she thinks she'll get acting gigs because of her stellar performance pretending she's really interested in Ben. Somebody said she seems to have borderline personality disorder or perhaps is even a sociopath, but in any case she's a narcissist who, by definition, cares only about herself and cannot identify or empathize with the feelings of others, and therefore might be the best choice for Ben, who has clearly shown a lack of basic respect for the other women on this show.I had to change my view of the show so as not to get all worked up about whatever reality it advertises. I have come to view Courtney as an archetype - the seductress. We see this character in ancient texts and recent fiction, from Delilah of the bible to Mata Hari of WWll to the evil queen in Once Upon a Time to multiple characters in Revenge. Each approaches her objective through seducing men then discarding them.
Once I recognized Courtney's place in this type, I could turn my mind away from Ben and his travails, and watch the seductress carry out her plan to reach her objective to win the man and then discard him. Of course, the discarding is in the unknowable future, but if she holds to type, once she has fully used him, she will throw him away.
That is why I've termed Courtney delicious the past couple of weeks.
Which makes me feel even sadder for the blue team...
I don't even like Ben but it's ridiculous to hold him to such high standards in regards to this show when no other bachelor has made it to the altar with their original choice......What were all the others looking for? Fame, a quick roll in the hay, traveling etc? If you are a fan of this show you know it's NOTHING but entertianment this show is not made to be taken so serious, most of these people are fairly good looking have good careers and can carry on a good conversation with the opposite sex, there is no reason why they should choose to come on this show they have to be looking for something else besides love......
IMO I have never seen any of the previous bachelors seem to be so mean when letting a girl go so unfeeling and in an underminding way threaten a girl....Ben seems to me that he lacks a basic respect for women in general ....and it seems he has no respect for himself...I can't think of one of any of the previous bachelors that would have dropped his clothes for the entire viewing audience to see and go skinny dipping...yes we know things happen in the fantasy suite but its not in front of the camera and to me it was just tasteless and as for Courtney she just made herself look like a major sl&& on national tv
Ben is classless period. I know this is a fluff show with no real value, but you cannot hide true personality quirks. He is cold to anyone that does not agree with him, and has little to no respect for any of these girls. All he is thinking about is his little friend getting attention period. When he gave Courtney the rose on the group date he openly stated to the girls he had another in mind. What was the point of that other than to make them all hurt and to propose they step it up. He is giving the most attention to the girl who goes the furthest. Jennifer was a great girl, and he keeps someone who will throw herself at him. If that is what he wanted, he should have saved himself a lot of time and just went out and hired a hooker because he certainly is not judging based on connections but who will do what to get him.
Yes, but if you'd just gotten engaged to Mr. Rattus and a video of him skinny dipping with a woman that he barely knew was showing on national TV, and it turned out that that "episode" had happened only two weeks before you got engaged.... Well, I know that I would be upset. And, embarassed. And, my family would have a FIT.
It sounds like you & the hubby had a non-exclusive relationship for the first year or so. Completely different (and much more REAL) situation.
