There had been comments regarding the lack of diversity in the bachelor choices. That is probably the main reason he was chosen.

Those complaints were in regards to the lack of racial minorities as bachelor and bachelorette, not the lack of people with accents, so, no, picking Juan doesn't qualify as diversifying the show. Not in the least.

It's not that he has an accent...although I'm sure they thought we would be digging that...it's the fact that he is considered to be Latino. To producers that equals racial diversity.

    Hmmmmm
A sandy haired, blue eyed, light skinned latino who looks about as much like a racial minority as Sean Lowe.
Yep, that's racial diversity to me.

I almost always look forward to the show. Even when it's dreadful, I enjoy hating it. Des's season & cast were awful but I stayed to the bitter end. And in the end she did pick the only good one.

If this was their attempt at racial diversity, they failed miserably.

Nope, I always give this show a chance to entertain me. I'm hoping this season is particularly snarkalicious.

I think I'll watch the premier episode and then decide if I'm interested enough to see this trainwreck through to the end.

Sadly, the days of Meredith and Ian are long over.
