    Ironic, isn't it!

The guys, who we've seen in snippits, are already called "losers, gross, and disgusting."

Yet, the girl will be publicly stoned if she doesn't fall in love with Carrot Top or Sumo Guy and choses a HardBody instead.

We laugh at the guys and declare how we'd never date them but get angry at her for being shocked and pissed off. Then, we feel cheated if she doesn't hook up with one of them.

I don't understand the double standards so many impose on these people.

    No kidding!

Let's reserve judgement on these guys, at least until January 6th!!

Yes, there is a double standard, but what can you do. I think all anyone wants this new girls to do is to give the guys a fair chance. Melana was doing that until see saw all the new guys, and started to ignore the old. I am hoping that this new group of guys has a few men who, like Adam, are average in looks, but above average in personality. If so, then I hope this girl gives them a chance!

I think there is even less chance for her to pick an average Joe with more lookers coming in - and the averages are less attractive than those on the Average Joe #1. Most of them seem to be rather large and unless she is a chubby chaser, she won't be interested.

Honestly, most of these guys look like really nice guys. OK, one or two didn't photograph well, but that doesn't mean they're bad people. You can't really tell much about someone's personality and character from a photograph. Not that we'll have a chance to see much more courtesy of editing but maybe.

I don't feel badly about throwing a few jabs at these guys. They are willingly appearing on a show that is passing judgment on their physical appearance. Granted, they may not have known that when they signed up, but that is the nature of reality television and they should have expected it when they signed their contracts.

I am not a person that judges how much I like or respect someone based on physical appearance. In fact, I wouldn’t even say physical appearance is necessarily the most relevant thing in people that I find sexy. Although I've thrown a few less-than-flattering comments their way, I'll be the first one to show appreciation for the nice guys, the funny guys, the hubba hubba guys they turn out to be once we get to know them. (It does look like they could all use some help in the personal grooming department though. I’ve never seen this show before, do these guys get any makeover help along the way?)

The guys get to makeover themselves as they see fit. Some exercise equipment was provided on Average Joe 1. The producers of this series don't spend any dollars to make these guys look good. The final Average Joe on Part 1 Adam was lucky enough to have enough personality and his own dollars to look good without any help from a professional team of makeover specialists. But that was still not good enough for Melana to pick him to win. I am expecting the same scripted final with an Average Joe going up against a hunk and still losing. The only difference is that the hunks are actually more attractive than all the Average Joes in Part II.

    Thanks for the info sugarlady.

This show might be a little too cringe inducing for me. I haven't decided whether I'll actually watch it or not.

I feel the same. On the last show I found some of the first few shows in particular to be very disturbing, and I am sure since both shows were taped in advance they saved the more extreme series for last! I do know that once you start watching it's hard to stay away; I guess I'll watch if there aren't other shows I'd rather see. For some reason the dating shows are not really my cup of tea anyway, I prefer Survivor, King of the Jungle, etc.
