Nice insults Martha lobbed at Bethanny. Pretty mean, in fact.

And actually, her endorsement of Dawna was lukewarm. "We could always use a good manager". And then she hands her a job which obvious doesn't include other employees reporting to her, but instead vague "development duties". I mean "Development Director"? Doesn't that stink of "I don't quite trust you enough to make you Editor-In-Chief".

All Dawna REALLY gets is 250K and hopefully she doesn't lose time at her OWN magazine.

    What a crock of #@%&.

Even the announcement of the winner was slow and an anticlimax. What a bore. When will she write bethany's letter. It might go a little something like this.

Bethany, I really didn't like you. You are way to hyper and manic and try to make to much of a physical impression. I hated how you loved Jim and other than him I don't think you have many friends. I wish you luck in your future endeavours but they wont be with Martha Stewart Living OmniMedia (stole a little something from Atoosa, Miss 17)

There is no way Bethanny could have been picked for health related publication. She is too anorexic and sickly looking

    lol.
It would've been entertaining if they would've kept Dawn in the game longer... or maybe set her and Jim up to be in the final two.

Hey Dawna, with the transit strike I bet you could pick up a few fares and supplement that $250K salary.
I like the way Martha tossed you out of your own victory celebration.

Dawna jumps in her new Buick and quickly gets stuck in a traffic jam due to the transit worker strike - a fitting ending!!

Yeah, she snatched that champagne right out of her hand.

I'd be happy with 250K a year. No problem.

I think this is the only finale I've seen that only made it to 4 pages. This show was definitely not a yuuuge success.

-- why the heck would martha make dawna the editor-in-chief?

-- who wrote martha's lines for choosing the winner? it was tough to tell who the winner was!

-- that body & soul magazine looks like a yoga-doing DUD.

-- it was HILARIOUS that dawna got thrown out of her victory party! where the hell was she driving off to?? LMFAO!!!

-- "sweet dreams" played 20 times, and i never got tired of it.

-- i like martha stewart a lot, but this was not the show for her. thank god it's over.

But of course it's "a year" and not "per year". Supposing Dawna doesn't lose her own magazine in that year, where do you suppose she'll be right back at the moment MSLO lets her go? I mean, supposing she owns that mag instead of just having the vague "publisher" title, and it's successful, she's got to make a lot more than 250K a year on it.

She didn't. That's the whole point about how lame the offer was.

Dawna apparently has actually been a "publisher" and "founder" according to her profile. Whether that included actual Editor duties is unclear. Mind you, an EIC doesn't do exactly what other Editors do, but there's a lot of overlap. So maybe Martha figures that all Dawna can really do is sell ad space, with a lame invented "Development" job--which can of course mean just about anything. It's like the same way that reportedly Kelly got stuck doing nothing but selling "Trump Ice" to people for a year.
