But, in addition to the "edited" version, we saw that almost every person on this season agreed that Piers was who he was edited to be... including Piers himself.

Piers never claimed to be anything than a smug a-hole, and seemed somewhat proud of it.

But, in the end, he is smart enough to understand that when it comes to the Trumpster, that $$$$ wins over personality and class every time.

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

Just about every challenge they had the entire season was judged on monetary results. As Piers said last night, it was a business copetition. So is it a bad thing to judge the winner on money over personality when it is a business competition, and not a "most liked" contest?

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

My opinion was not that Piers was blasting Baldwin for being a christian, but for his non-drinking.

I thought that Piers was blasting Baldwin for expressing high values / standards in the board room, but not practicing those same standards in the competitions. There were several times - the most notable being the week that the men's team was "spying", when during the competition, Stephen would be excited and participating in some tactic, and then when they got in the board room, he'd blast Piers for having used such tactics, saying that he would not do such an immoral thing. It came across as Stephen trying to appear to be something to Trump that he really wasn't, which is why I thought that Piers was quick to jump on him for it.

Absolutely not, which is why while Trace was a fan favorite, you don't really see anyone saying that he (Piers) didn't deserve to win.

Trump made almost every competition about who could bring in the most money, and Piers consistently did so. But, he was also consistent in other areas as well.... no tact, no class, vile, etc...

Trace did well in every competition, and was also consistent. Unfortunately, he didn't have the bright shiny numbers that Piers had. This season was less about what you know and what business acumen you have, and more about who had the bigger names in their blackbook, which Piers had hands down.

Brits don't hide behind their religion or feel the need to ram it down peoples throats.

The really funny thing is Piers has lead a much more Christian life than Trace or Baldwin yet people throw their arms around those two guys. Both have had alcohol problems. Trace was abusive to his first wife to the point where she was that scared she shot him.

I have never heard of either Piers or Trace before this show and Piers does come off as very abrasive while Trace is very gentleman like. However, if Piers is such a bad person why would all the heavyweight celebs friend comes to bat for him with their wallets? Look at Stevie B, his celeb friends wouldn't give him the time of day ("tell Gandolfini it's me....click", "oh Lindsey is out of town?"). And I read Trace's entry in Wikipedia, seems like his past is not so flattering either. But I like him as he presented him self on the show. I still hate country music though.

But in the end, Piers hit it spot on. This is not a popularity contest, this is business and business is about bringing in the bottom line. He deserved the win.

P.S. Pier beat Trace on the subway sandwich contest and he did it without using his rolodex.
It looks as though Trace is not the "gentleman" everyone makes him out to be judging by the entry in Wikpidia!!! Who would have guessed? Interesting how Omarosa didnt attack Trace's character by his past actions. I dont remember if she was ever put up against Trace in the boardroom but she would have had some ammunition if she wanted to attack him personally! The outcome was exactly the way I had hoped. One Brit having other Brits contributing to an "American" charity. Well done Piers.....Well Done! Congratulations!

I'd heard that Trace has a history of domestic violence, and I'm posting an article in a separate thread. It's almost laughable how people are embracing him as Mr. Nice Guy.

Just as comical is Stephen's need to blather on about what a Christian he is. Real Christians don't feel compelled to do that.

You are correct, Piers ha led more of a Christian life than either Trace OR Stephen.

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

I am pretty sure Piers was playing a part for the sake of the show. His English humor and directness are not the norm in the US but most of the drama was manufactured.

No way on earth anyone has remotely tactless as Piers was portrayed would ever have so many contacts.

It was a GREAT season though. Loved every minute of it, and Piers was the main contributor in terms of entertainment and fund raising.

BTW - Trump never came clean in the show but he has been close friends with Piers for many years.
