Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

In regards to The Backstreet Boys, Piers was right. Of course they would have performed! There are has-beens trying to make a come-back. I can picture it on TMZ: Backstreet Boys refuse to perform due to lack of wheatgrass and nail polish! This is the biggest gig they've had in 10 years!!!

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

Ok....here's my take. Congratulations to Piers. My son lived in England for 3 years. Having visited there I do get their "humor." I think that the thing that is lacking in Piers is CLASS! I do think that underneath all of his prickles and stings, he has a tender heart. I do believe that he cares deeply about our wounded servicemen which is sincere. I also remember how upset he was when Omarosa attacked his boys. It is NEVER to late to learn TACK AND CLASS!!!

Krom...you could not have described Omarosa any better! Did you notice that after Piers was announced the winner and everyone else was hugging that Omarosa was taking pictures? Guess she needs them for her photo album of people she calls her "close friends" who for some reason do not talk about her the same way NOR feel about her the same way.

Trace is a CLASS ACT. It's great to know that there are "STARS" that are the real deal. In Country Music his value just went up hugely. He is now a STAR no matter where he goes. He was SO fun. The BSB's could learn a few things from him. I think that he will walk away from this experience with the same humility and integrity he went in with. Hey....I might even go out and buy his CD. This was a fun season.

PLEASE MR.TRUMP.....NO MORE OMAROSA!!! (does anyone really believe the Donald when he says he is a big Omarosa fan?) Ok....maybe she brings in the drama ratings but for no other reason than that! I have had enough of her.

WAY TO GO TRACE!!! You are a WINNER!

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

Piers came on the show and did exactly what was expected of him - he provided good tv and he raised a lot of money...if he really was such a jerk - people would not open their pocketbooks to him and would not show up to support him...Trump himself always says its not personal - its business...my dad is a great businessman - and he can be the toughest boss on the face of the earth and when you don't perform he is quick to let you know - but all of his employees respect him and he is actually well liked and socializes with many of them outside of the office - it is possible to be a tough businessman and a good person

I do think Trace is a nice guy but what really bothered me is that Piers NEVER EVER said one bad word about him - he always complemented him and his work...but after Piers walked in the boardroom and kissed him - then he just became irrational about Piers - like he wanted to make sure no one thought for a second that they might "like" each other...

tonight and last week he said some nasty things about Piers and Piers had nothing but good things to say about Trace...that really bothered me

hands down Piers won - there should have been no debate -

I also heard that Omarosa actually asked Piers at one point if he wanted a showmance with her for drama and he refused - so then she decided he would suffer her wrath...they all decide how they want to portray themselves

His "in-your-face" style was not just for this show. Apparently one of his hallmarks as a tabloid reporter and editor was an aggressive assertion that there's no such thing as a right to privacy, that its surrendered completely the moment you put yourself in the limelight. He's been accused of having very shady ethics, even among the questionable group of people who run tabloids, and has been fired from several jobs. His one shot at owning something was a media trade magazine, the Press Gazette, and he (mostly through bad press) drove them into Administrative receivership.

That said, according to the "rules" of this show, or at least the doctrine laid down over time by Trump that it would be embarrassing for Trump to ignore, he did much better than Trace, and thus "deserved" to win.

His Roledex appears to be deep for a few reasons. Firstly, a tabloid editor, even a notorious one who's pissed off celebs left and right, is owed favors by the boatload. Even when he's an ex-tabloid editor. Secondly, he had a lot of people helping simply BECAUSE he was a Brit--the whole "lets see if we can win against the Americans" thing.
Thanks for the insight, Krom. Business is business and he did do better than Trace. It was a very interesting match-up for the final and I thought The Donald showed some thoughtful consideration in making his decision, even though the outcome was clear.

"End justifies the means" is more a statement about being ruthless. Piers was more unnecessarily assy than ruthless.

His comments did nothing but HURT him, IMO, and it actually made me laugh that he saw being rude and confrontational as being "business-like". But this show wasn't being decided on business demeanor any more than it was charm, so Trump pretty much HAD to give it to the guy who trampled the other one.
Piers was so nasty I don't think anyone (with the exception of Carol) could stand working with him. Did any of them have anything nice to say about him?

As others have stated, the only reason he brought in so much money in the auction was because he had a couple contacts with very deep pockets. He completely failed on the catering part of it, not providing food in the hopes that the donors would bid while intoxicated. He did not even hold up his part of the agreement: providing food.

MEANS (exhibited during the finale):
- obnoxious behavior
- attempt to get people to bid while drunk
- not doing what he promised

In contrast, Trace is well liked and respected. He brought in celebrity country music stars. He went out of his way to do everything he could to make the BSBs happy. He maintained his integrity thoughout.

It would have been very interesting to see what would have happened if "You're Gonna Miss This" had been made available for download before the finale, and its profits had been added in. Still probably wouldn't have matched what Piers raised, but I'd have liked to see it count.

I can't believe I forgot this was even on! But truthfully, I fell asleep before then anyway, so either way I would have missed it! And since my boy Trace didn't win, I may not even bother trying to catch the replay.

Re: Celebrity Apprentice Finale

I'm glad that Piers won. I did like what Trace said that it was just as hard or harder for his people to give what they gave than it was for the people who gave to Piers. It's true. It probably hurt a lot worse to give $5000 when you don't really have it than to give $200,000 when it doesn't hurt at all. Still I'm glad that Piers won, I liked his charity better and it will help more people that will eventually fall through the cracks. Well done, comrade.

I didn't hear any booing when Baldwen entered...and I'm glad Trump and others stood up for him when Piers was trying to blast him for being a Christian..

I'm not putting Trace down but he seems to want to disassociate himself with anything feminine; referring to the nail polish. But, he is the one walking around with a ponytail down to his .........
