| Re: Trace Adkins - Country Music Star Cross-posted from the finale thread, as this is a big topic here as well... You know... I've been a quiet observer up til now. But I have to chime in on this "Trace is a wife beater" thing. I've seen the article about Trace's history of domestic violence. In it, it says that Trace's WIFE shot HIM. He also believes it was accidental, and did not press charges against her. He admitted that there was a lot of alcohol abuse within the marriage - I got the feeling it was two-sided, but to be fair I can't say that for sure. He also specifically denied that he ever abused her. There may be articles I'm unaware of. But someone [I see here it was Tango] posted the article I'm referring to on these boards and hollered about his history of domestic violence. Based on that article, I'd say the only violence proved was his wife at the time's violence against him. Not his to her. Now he does admit he was in a lot of bar room fights in his past, so he does have some history of violence involving fights with other *bar room patrons* in his past. He obviously was no angel back in the day (though I've seen nothing to suggest that this behaviour has followed him to recent times - in fact, he was shot by his then wife in 1994 - that's 14 years ago!). But please, someone post an article or admission that he is a *wife beater*. That is a HUGELY serious allegation and if there is nothing to found it on, I think it's a horrible defamation of character. Thank you for pointing me to this evidence, or dropping the allegations. | Re: Trace Adkins - Country Music Star As far as the "kiss" thing goes, I was sure I heard him make a comment later that his reaction to Piers kissing him was more that he didn't see it coming and that he didn't "get" what Piers was up to until afterward. He was laughing about it later. I saw nothing wrong with Piers kissing him because it was funny, and I saw nothing wrong with Trace's reaction, because to me it seemed like he was clearly caught off-guard and his explanation was consistent with his behavior. That's just how it came across to me. I was more offended by all the "homophobe" accusations because so what if a man doesn't like being kissed by another man? That does not make him "homophobic" in my opinion. It was nowhere the big deal it was made out to be.
