| Does Trump Fake Plot Twists? TV Guide says no. I'm not so sure, although Ivanka's opinion is important. She's not the sort of lie purposefully. Trump actually does express incredulity over Piscopo's pull-out last season, though, and we actually had Rebecca saying the producers refused to let her call Joe Piscopo's union, to try to resolve whatever issue was keeping him from appearing at her event. Even if Trump's not involved, I still think the show producers are meddling.

| I can't open the link you posted....but then I don't really care what TVGuide says. To me, it's obvious they throw wrenches in the last task. |

| Like last season, they have to do something to keep it close. They needed something, anything, to knock Rebecca back, because she was making Randall look like a doof in comparison. Hence Piscopogate. And now they need to do the same to Sean. So what the asbestos omelet means is that Lee has a shot of winning, or at least we're supposed to think he does even though he doesn't.

| It's reality TV and we all know that means it's only 15% real. The rest is carefully pasted together to appear as if it's not pasted together. Frankly if I were a producer I'd be right there meddling. Sometimes there will be drama which will naturally make for great TV but other times things might go smoothly... and smooth is boring. Something needs to be done when it's boring. Bring in a last minute cancellation, a nosebleed, rain (I'm not suggesting they can make rain ), whatever. They are making a TV show for entertainment and advertiser money, so there's only so much they can afford to leave up to chance and the big final showdown isn't one of those things. | |

| There was a great article where someone tracked down one of the renters from the first Apprentice. Remember the task where they had to renovate apartments and rent them out? One apartment didn't get any takers but magically 3 minutes before the deadline someone walked in and signed papers? The article made it pretty clear that the producers manipulate it to the max - more than I would have guessed from watching the show as a cynical, jaded reality show viewer. The last-minute renter had already agreed to rent the apartment a few weeks earlier, and made an agreement with the landlord to pay a certain rent much lower than whatever the Apprentice team was asking. Basically, the landlord told her to go into the room, sign the papers, but they would mean nothing because they had already agreed upon a price. That's what she did, on camera. | |
