Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

I can't seem to browse this site without getting redirected over and over and over and over. Its a miracle I managed to find the Help forum so I could ask for help.

I'm logged in and yet I'm redirected to an advertiser. It says I'll be redirected in 10 seconds. I wait and I'm never returned to the original page but to a few pages back.

When I try to go to the next page I'm redirected again.

If I close the advertiser, I get a gajillion ads popping up at me.

This is FORT with over-taking ads? How many must I endure each session? So far (with a few pages of browsing) I've seen at least 20 of them.

Re: Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

I've had the same problem the last two days, and I have a good pop-up blocker. I was thrown to some other site (don't remember what it was) and had to close the browser to get out, it wouldn't let me return. That's only happened twice. Then AVG started freaking out, giving me Trojan warnings. I use IE, if that helps.

How very strange! I have a pop-up blocker, use Firefox as my browser, and have not had any problems. We'll have to investigate this.

Re: Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

I haven't logged into the site for a day or so and I just logged on a bit ago and it took me to another site and said I would be redirected in 10 seconds. So, it happened to me too.

Manny, count yourself lucky. I'm using Firefox and have the same issues as everyone else. It's a BIG pain!

Re: Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

It's been happening like crazy on my MAC! It's seems to be OK if I'm actually posting or IMing, but if I'm just trying to look through threads,it's really bad! Glad I caught this so I know it's not just me.

Re: Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

I'm on a Mac too. Took me 10 tries to read this thread. Its horrible. I have to log out of here....and will try in a few days. The frustrating part is that the ad on the other website where it redirects me claims it will return me. It might return me (might not) but it never brings me to the page where I was last. It brings me to the forum index or another forum but never the thread that I was on and trying to read.

I hope it can be fixed.

Re: Ack - redirected ads and pop ads taking over browser

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago. The hijack site would return me but then I would flip back to another site. It was annoying.
