Re: The Official FORT Lingo List

I tend to write and spell everything about, but the one abbreviation it DO use out of that list is 'ppl'. I don't know, it always just seemed easier to me.

Re: The Official FORT Lingo List

Is "lol" ok to use? Or does that count as lingo too?

That is good to know. I am refraining from using most abbreviations just to be safe, though. It is just easier that way.

Re: The Official FORT Lingo List

I've been wondering about a few acronym meanings for awhile now. Tried finding the answers, but no luck. So...posting the questions here.

ETA. ?. Appears to be used in reference to post editing.

TPTB. ?. (Or is it TBTP? I forget at the moment). Anyway...appears to be used with reference to Mark Burnett productions.

What do these two acronyms stand for?

Thanks,

I finally know what ETA stands for in this context. (I was pretty sure that "estimated time of arrival" wasn't right)

I knew what TPTB meant because of years of watching "Angel".

This is why I love the FORT so much; because of intelligent rules, enforcement and members that can show a good sense of humor respectfully! I haven't read the rules (sorry to say) since I joined in 2003 and just reviewing them again has filled my heart with gratitude and appreciation (and refreshed my memory ) - thanks so much!

Re: The Official FORT Lingo List

I thought that everything was suppose to be typed out in full? It took reading ahead on some posts to figure out what OTT and TPTB were short for. Now that I know, not a big deal. But very annoying when reading a post and you can't figure out what the letters are suppose to mean and you have to stop reading and start skimming other posts to see if anyone clarifies. OTT really had me stumped!
