I think this new system is great. I got banned for a few days a couple years ago and I never did figure out what I had done wrong. The mod just kept telling me to read the rules and I couldn't decide what rules I had broken After being around for awhile, I think I get it, but I'm still very cautious.
The new policy will leave no doubts as to the problems and I think that is great - good system.

I'M SORRY!!! I just used the dreaded C word again! please don't ban me.

Sheesh... we should be allowed to go back and fix the mistakes we may have missed in proofreading before our posts are whisked away to Moderater-Land. Especially when they are such embarrasing posts.

I believe there is about 15 20 minutes you can edit your post.

Not for infractions it seems. As soon as I hit post the offending words turn bright red, and then BAM I click the edit button lickity split.. but it's too late, the post is already gone. I have gotten the word "though" under control. I usually spell it out now, and when I forget I always check it in proofread. But the "C" word somehow slips out and I miss it. I try to fix...

Is it possible to have the "Preview Post" function highlight the offending words in red to give posters a chance to edit that way? I just tested it out with a bunch of illegal lingo and nothing was highlighted.

Unfortunately, no. It doesn't run through the auto-moderation filter until it's posted.

I just received a dreaded infraction for posting something in the current Survivor thread. It was "Survivor Insider" information. Honestly, it was something I read on another site and posted ( barely altered ) to clarify a response. Since I had seen others post transcripts of Survivor Insider verbatim, I thought it was within the rules. I'm now guessing that there is a point when this information transitions from esoteric to common knowledge and thus becomes official/legal to post, but as said, I'm really just guessing.

The hefty point whammy rather than a warning was upsetting, but I understand that ignorance is no excuse -- but it is a reason. I remember running into some confusion in other mega-active show forums such as Big Brother and The Bachelor. Just a suggestion, but perhaps a sticky warning list of infraction-getting possibilities at the top of forums that lend themselves to driving dangerously would help ? I would have read them and used more caution.

I appreciate all you do to keep this site a tight ship, and I apologize for messing up.

The infractions are based on the FAQ's. You may also PM a moderator (in red) if you are in doubt or have any questions.

Understood ... but I read the FAQ's many times and there is no info there that I saw regarding specifically at what point this information becomes legal/official. Since I had seen it done previously without infraction/deletion I really had no questions to ask a mod.

If you mean this ( FAQ search on other fan sites ) :

http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forum...l&titlesonly=0

I didn't think of what I posted as an "article". My mind read article to mean something such as a news story which would have required a link to the source. Since the source was a transcription post at another fan site, that would not have been allowed. If the rule is to not post anything posted on another fan site verbatim that's fine and I understand now as It was explained in the notice that such information may be summarized or paraphrased. I did not know that and did not see it in the site rules and to boot was being a lemming following other lawbreakers.

I truly think there are some things that lend themselves to confusion and thus spelling-out and specific clarification on the really active show boards would be helpful. As said, I have run into some confusion before which ended up being completely clarified in the rules.

Ok, I just got an infraction for only using smileys in a post and I noticed that under my avatar, there is a notice saying I have 1 infraction. I feel like I'm wearing the scarlet letter. How funny, now everyone will know I've been a bad bad girl!
