I've added a modification to the site that allows you to select your gender, in your "User CP/Edit Profile" section, and displays a little graphic next to your username in your posts. Please, if you have a moment, select your gender in the list.

Personally, I'm glad it is optional as I prefer the ambiguity.

Maybe we need a lavender T option as well? For those who are trans or who like the ambiguity? (Or maybe it's already there...haven't looked yet.)
Re people's avatars...they actually confuse me, since they are so often of heterosexual (I assume) peoples' crushes...e.g., Qboots. So on one level I think of them as male even when I know they are female from what they've said.
Wonder what the sex ratio is at FORT? Because it's a polite, civil site is it more heavily female than most? Not to stereotype gender likes and dislikes of course!

John posted a bunch of statistics back in March, 2005, in the Buying Advertising on the site thread. At that time, 73% of those responding were female.

I appreciate the icons because you wouldn't believe how many people will read one of my recaps and think I'm male. I haven't a clue why. It seemed to happen most during Big Brother.

Yeah, we're roughly 70% female, and that seems to be fairly constant, regardless of the shows that are on.
