Why is there a time limit for how long you can edit your post? How long is it? Why is it there? I just can't find any reason for it.

It's 30 minutes, and it's because that gives you plenty of time to fix typos, grammatical errors, etc. We want the discussions to remain intact, and if people have the ability to edit their posts forever, they can't be held accountable for some of the things they say when they get called on them.

It's really too bad.

Don't know if FORT had or has one but how about a Chatroom for members, It would cut down on off topic postings and PM boxes filling up saving bandwidth

Chatroom is open (as far as I understand it) only when the FORT is down. (Mods, feel free to correct me on that)

The chatroom does exist, and is used primarily when the site is down. I don't want people using it when the site's NOT down, however. The reason is that we are a forum where posting is "what we do". A chatroom is pretty much the exact opposite of what we're looking for. Chats aren't discussion.

Is there a forum where we can just talk about our daily lives?
