In the "Forum tools" drop-down menu, there's an option to do just that. You'll find it in the index page for a specific forum page.

It will also make any sub-forums under a given forum read, so doing this in General Discussion would also make the Premium Members, Birthday Archives, and Fortcon forums read as well.

An easier way is from the main forum listing. Just double-click on the building icon on the left of the forum name (if you're using the Trump scheme, otherwise whatever icon you see there). That'll turn it dark and mark it all as read.

Something odd (I think) is happening with the Quote button. I'm not sure I've got this down correctly, because today is the first time I've seen it, but if I quote the text from a post that, in turn, had quoted a previous post, both poster's names appear, without a matching end quote for the outer most pair.

I've noticed it not only in my own postings, but in several other people's. In fact, ongoing discussion in some of the more active (Bachelor forums) is getting downright funny to follow, with people now appearing to quote themselves, when they really mean to be responding to someone else's point.

I do realize that this show has many of us talking and mumbling to ourselves, perhaps the board is just doing the same, .

I know the answer to that one because it happens frequently in the Bachelor forum. In fact, I'll make an example out of this in my next post so you'll be able to see.

    I'm just testing this.

If it's happening, it appears to be because it's being done manually. When you quote a post that contains a quote, the original quote is not carried over. As you can see here.

Okay - see how it's all messed up? Looking at the above quote, it looks like I'm quoting YOU (originally psted by Miss Thing), but actually I quoted MY post. The reason it's messed up is because I left off part of the quote tag ('[') when I quoted *your* post. When this happens, all subsequent posts that quote MY post get screwed up.

Another tell-tale sign is if you see a [quote=Jewelsy;2360591;] at the top of a post followed by the quoted post. It means that it was previously quoted incorrectly.

    Does that make sense?

I'm not going to risk quotes (thanks to Jewels), but yes, that's exactly what happened. I never do anything different, but this was happening yesterday, so I'm guessing someone started the chain, and we all fell victim.

Thanks a lot, that makes perfect sense to me.

I don't know if this question should go here but I don't see a better place.

I'm sure there are many lurkers, but are there any reality TV contestants who openly post on this board? And if so, who?
