Ah...thanks, hepcat. I think Melissab73 designed the Big Brother 6 banner as well. Great job!

When submitting a long post/PM to the FORT, it takes forever and won't work on Modzilla however on IE it goes in a flash. Anybody know why?

It's just the opposite for me, AI. Firefox is MUCH faster than IE (for me).

What does "Egads!" mean? Is this a FORT term? I had one chick say it to me and I thought it was a silly word she made up and then I saw another chick post it. I am guessing it means like oh my God or something but just wanted to double check. heheh

It's not a FORT term, it exists in the real world. You'e never heard that expression before? It's an exclamation of surprise with a little disgust thrown in. I guess it's a little old-fashioned, though.

I think egads is a cuss word that the 'older generations' use... Veronica's dad says it all the time. (Archie comics)

I don't think it is a cuss word, per se.

From the Miriam Webster online dictionary:

Quote:
Main Entry: egad
Pronunciation: i-'gad
Variant(s): or egads /-'gadz/
Function: interjection
Etymology: probably euphemism for oh God
-- used as a mild oath
One example of its use that I found is from Disney's Alice in Wonderland movie:

Quote:
Mad Hatter: Personal remarks are rude?
Alice: Mm-hmm.
Mad Hatter: Egad, you learn something new every day.
As hepcat said, it is an exclamation. I tend to use it when I am trying to convey to someone that they completely misunderstood me.

Hope that helps!

Now that it's been answered, I hope we can move this back on-topic to FORT-related stuff.
