    Arrow keys problem (weird)

I cannot use my arrow keys when I compose a message! The keys work fine elsewhere on the FORT (for scrolling, for instance) and in other programs, so I know I'ts not my keyboard. It is very odd.

What exactly would you use your arrow keys for while composing a message?

Fixing typo's for instance. I move the cursor to the position of the typo and fix it. But now, I can only move the cursor with my mouse, which is annoying.

Is this something that recently started? Have you installed any new software? Have you done a virus and spyware scan? We haven't changed anything here.

Try your arrow keys on your numeric keypad (and make sure you turn off numlock) to see if it's just those keys giving you trouble or if it is the actual events triggered by either keys.

Like John said, make sure you check for virus and spyware as that most likely seems to be the cause.

It started today. I'm on a linux system, so not much of a virus or spyware threat. I'll ask our sys-admin, since it is probably a mozilla thing and not a FORT thing then. Thanks for taking the time to help out.

It doesn't change anything to use the other arrows. Extremely funky.
