    All Your Base Are Belong To Us?

    Ok, is this some kind of inside joke? Cause I don't get it... when you go to the FORT forum index, it says "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" and with my OCD problems (go read about it in the GD forum) that kind of bugs me... not that that should matter, just curious where that quote came from. Please do not post a bunch of "It's John's site and he can do what he wants" I realize that, and I think it's fine... I am just curious to know what it's about, that's all.

    It is an old joke. It was a translation that got a little messed up. I can't remember the background, but I'm sure someone here can tell you what the deal was.

    It is an internet inside joke. The root of the joke is an old japanese video game called Zero Wing that got some really bad English translation. As a result you would see the characters say things like "all your base are belong to us" or "Somebody set up us the bomb" or even "You have no chance to survive make your time." Some web sites noticed the bad translation and highlighted the game and it took off from there. At the height of the phenomenon, there was a series of photoshoped images with "all your base are belong to us" text replacing any existing text there might have been on the original image. There were even some real-life sightings of the phrase in college campuses. Since then it has pretty much died down, but the inside joke remains!

    As for Ricci . . . I only have him there because the Sharks beat the Avs. I'm not a exactly big fan of him, either.
