I didn't even see the ad. I don't pay much attention to the ads...sorry, John. I will keep saving so I can send my green money.

I personally don't like the ad either, and I infact came into this part of the forum to post about it and I saw this one.

Like I said... I don't much approve of it, but it isn't like don't we see campaign ads on tv networks day in day out from both and all parties.

I also think that John should have some sort of moderation in what ads are on his website as to not disturb the peace of his users. Chances are, bounty paper towels won't cause an uproar, but if you put something like what is up there now, you're bound to recieve some complaints. Just an idea.

John has explained the banner (and ALL the banners for that matter).

    Give it a rest.

Maybe people who are afraid that an ad like that could make them involuntarily vote for a candidate they can't stand would feel safer by avoiding ALL radio, TV, and internet until after the elections....Actually the only reason I'm posting here is, I've gotta know; is all of this uproar over one of those little 1/2 inch by 2 inch, very brief ads that I see about once a day on this site? I've never seen an ad over that size, or more than 10 words here! Or is there something that for whatever reason doesn't show up on my computer?

The ads don't even show up for me either queenb.

But if they DID show up, even for the mere price of dinner or whatever...I still wouldn't care.

I'm seeing more google ads as of today. The really neat thing is they relate to the forum you are currently in. So my question is have they always been there and I've been dense or is this a recent addition?

I noticed that too, JunkieGirl: google banner ads at the bottom of the page. The funny thing I noticed was that in the "regional sayings" thread in General Discussion, the ads were all for soda/pop/soft drinks. I guess we talked about whether we say "soda," "pop" or "coke" a little too much in that thread.

Good to know I'm not the only one! Thanks Lucy!

The ads have always been on the page, they were just under the quickreply box before, and now they're above it.

Google scans each page and serves up relevant ads based on the content of the page, in most cases. It's really neat technology, really.

Found a nice Simple Life 2 screensaver from one of the ads.
