Planned by and for the members of Fans of Reality TV, Project FORTcon 2004 is now under way. Details are still in the early stages, but we have put together an information page with all current relevant information, and wanted to get the news out so you can clear your calendar early.

If you are interesting in joining us for this weekend of Reality TV fun, please post here, PM Stargazer or email fortcon@fansofrealitytv.com with the following information:

a) Whether you are seriously considering attending
b) The ages and number of people attending with you (kids, spouses)
c) The mode of transportation you are likely to use (flying, driving)

Members of Fans of Reality TV and their significant others are welcome to attend. Although children are also welcome, we will not be scheduling events that are necessarily "kid-friendly," as the focus will be primarily on the members. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (even local members) for all official events.

We do NOT anticipate requiring a registration charge, as this is going to be a fairly loose organization, and people are free to make additional plans as needed (a visit to a museum, a Cubbies game, whatever you want). The Metra rail system is an excellent and cheap way to get around the city.

Thank you all for your interest. This announcement was made to the Moderators, Writers, and Premium Members only a few days ago and response has been tremendous. We look forward to seeing many of you in October.

Additionally, if you are a reality show contestant, we'd love to have you make an appearance, especially if you're a Chicago local!

Also, please note that the hotels listed on the FORTcon website are suggestions, because they're all grouped closely together and will likely serve as our "base of operations" for events and get-togethers. If you have a favorite Chicago hotel, you're more than welcome to stay where you want, but you may have to commute to get to any fun stuff.

I hope you all can make it! Nothing would make me happier than to have 4 or 5 hundred people show up.

I just want to express my appreciation to all the people who have put so much work into planning this, but especially Stargazer. I know it has taken over her life for the past few days and I hope she'll be rewarded by a huge attendance, and that everyone will take a turn at buying her a drink. :laugh

Whoever goes, don't forget to take lots of pictures!! Hope everyone has a great time!

ETA: Uhhh...Toni Ferrari is from CHI town. :rofl Someone should send her an email, I would absolutely DIE if she attended something. :lol
