    Not here, I hope...

I don't know what a "Save Now!" popup would look like. Are you sure you don't have Word open in the background?

i sent them an e-mail to remove me from their list. Hopefully it works.

John, go ahead and delete this thread--it's pointless.

    Thanks!

Save now is not a standard pop up. It is an installed application from WhenU.com. To make it stop you will need to remove the application from your computer. Thankfully they are a somewhat legitimate company, so they make that easy.
From the Windows Start button select Settings and then Control Panel. When the Control Panel window opens, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
When the Add/Remove Programs Properties window opens, locate SaveNow in the list of installed programs.
Click on it one time and then click on the Add/Remove button.
Follow the prompts until uninstall is complete.

If you're talking about those messenger ads that pop up on your computer that you can't seem to get rid of (they're not pop-up browser windows, but like regular dialog boxes), here's how to stop them forever:

    1) Click on Start / Control Panel
    2) Double-click on "Administrative Tools"
    3) Double-click on "Services"
    4) Find "Messenger"
    5) Right-click on it, and select "Stop"
    6) Right-click on it, and select "Properties"
    7) Under "Starup Type" choose "Disabled"
    8) Click "Apply"
    9) Close all windows

You'll need to check that every so often, because some spyware can re-enable that service.

You know what an airhead I am so don't laugh at my question, but does doing what you described affect MSN messenger? I've suddenly started getting pop-ups for no reason.

No, it doesn't effect MSN at all. There's actually a description on the services list that says that, because it IS confusing. Dang Microsoft, anyway.

I finally decided to entirely remove the Messenger from my computer seeing as no one here used it. It was set at disabled, but no matter what it opened two ports and for some reason I didn't like that. If you use it though I think you're stuck with the possibility of the spim pop-ups.
