How can we help conserve server resources?

Would cleaning up some of the games in the Fun & Games forum help? I know some of them only depend on the post just before them, for example, "The Person Below Me", "Do You", "Find this Picture", "ACROS". They could be wiped out to just the last page and the game could continue unhindered.

Should I duck?

It's a bit weird adjusting to this 100 post a page thing, but its cool. And since I'm such a computer spaz, explain what the second thing John suggested does. vbcodes?

My (very rudimentary) understanding of vbcodes is that they are what you use to bold, underline and otherwise alter your text.
When you make a post, there are buttons at the top with a B, I and U, and tabs you can use to change the font and the size. like this. itty bitty text.
But if you know what you want to do, you can just type it in, using the [ ] brackets at the beginning and [/ insert what you want to do] at the end.

The 100 pg display is so cool. I wish I knew of this earlier instead of loading page per page in the some of the other forums.

Duxxy, can you please tell me what the Scroll Lock is supposed to do? I have it on and don't find it any different as when I have it off.

How about reducing the size of the avatar? Just as an example, I checked the size of all the avatars on this page, and while most of them are under 5K, one of them is 23K. I opened in Irfanview, reduced the color depth to 256 colors and quality down to 60% and saved again: it became 6K and looks exactly the same.

I'm not sure but John did you turn off the who's viewing what thread to conserve resources or is there a problem with my computer?

I turned that off, temporarily.

I was informed yesterday afternoon that the memory we need for the upgrade is out of stock, and they couldn't do the planned upgrade. When they get their next shipment in, we're on the list. I'm also told that downtime should only be around 10 minutes.
