Server upgrade 04/08 in the AM

I'm not sure when exactly (it's kind of like the phone guy, who will be there sometime between 6am and October), but on Thursday morning, the site will be down for a (hopefully) short time, while we have some upgrade work done.

For those curious-minded among you, we are upgrading from the current 2 gigs of RAM to 4 gigs.

This is "phase 1" of our hardware upgrades. Sometime next week, we will be down again while we install a second hard drive. Then we'll be moving the database portion of our site to the second hard drive, to help improve performance a little more. That will be "phase 6" of the upgrades (who wants to make things easy and go in numerical order??? I say, rebel against elementary math!)...

Sorry for the downtime, but it should greatly enhance the daily experience here for those of you experiencing slowness.

Thanks for the info John and all your efforts for improvements. I was about to ask this morning about the slowness last night during Bach. I noticed the AI and Bach threads had "a lot" of people and posts kept getting booted back and the response was very sluggish. Will this upgrade help with that type of demand on the system?
