Also I'm not sure what you've tried in the past when there were problems but another site I go to suspended registrations for awhile to try and get a handle on problems before reopening new memberships.
I know you said you didn't want to turn anyway and that's really cool but sometimes there are more guests than members. I've never really understood either why someone would only want to be a guest here. :shrug
