The key to understanding lingo: say it aloud. Written English is very phonetic.

This is just my 12 year-old wisdom - or lack thereof - speaking, so ignore it if you like.

And yes, the 12 year-old AOLer translation is hilarious. However, I don't think me, being 12, or any of my 12 year-old friends use capital letters, numbers, and "WTF" as often. Lowercase letters are easier on the eyes, see?

Duh, I didn't check my post before sending it. I thought I was typing the smiley by using the semi-colon - : and the right parenthesis sign ) --- but look at that? FoRT changes it to for me!! Cool deal. So my question to John or the moderators doesn't apply. Sorry guys.

But If anyone needs to communicate with that live journal site posted above, I would suggest you use this translator...

Tranlate into lingo so that you too can talk like a 12 y/o on AOL...
It's fun and hilarious! Thanks brodie

The translator is too funny. The link that everyone was talking about so I guess I'll just have to imagine.

I don't think I could use lingo anyways...I'm having a hard enough time typing correctly in the first place.

Yes, you are a very evil person, John, shame on you! :nono

Seriously though, I wish you would do it more often . But then, of course, I wish people would register names that you could actually use to "talk" to them - or is it that they don't want to "talk"?
No offense to those who do it, but it really makes it hard to address someone when they sign up as something that can't be perceived as a name, and sometimes confused as a regular word. Just a tip.
