    just some thoughts

    In the FAQ's it says:

    The use of "Lingo"
We do not allow members to use "lingo" on our site. Please take a few extra moments to type out words such as "anyone" and "your". Excessive use of lingo may result in your posts being deleted, and in extreme cases, temporary banning from the site.

It seems you expect people to write do not cannot, will not etc. instead of the normal "short" versions. I see that all the time, I wont, I can't etc. and I'm using it all the time. Is the purpose of posting to write something worthy of homework in english? But if this is the rule to obide by, I will think for a moment, so as not to write "can't" when I can write cannot. Personally, I find it much more iritating with the use of lol, XD etc, some of these "abbrevations" I have no clue what they mean.

There's a difference between lingo and common grammatical contractions.

I don't see where it says "lingo=grammatical contractions". It says that you should type out words such as "anyone" (instead of "ne1") and "your" (instead of "ur").

I'm baffled as to why people feel the need to nit pick and buck the system - when it clearly works.

another reason not to use lingo - because some of us old farts can't understand what the hell you are trying to say. Use the Queen's english and everyone will be pleased as punch. Lingo is for lazy typists.

I was so happy when I first started lurking here that I didn't have to turn to my husband every ten words and say, "Honey what does *insert random letter combination here* mean?"
