When someone is banned, they still appear on-line until their cookie expires - 15 minutes.

Just like when you leave, you still appear as being here for 15 more minutes.

It would seem that you would get banned for breaking the rules and not from "defending" a reality TV person or stating your opinion. A lot of people do that anyway without getting banned.

Many people cross that line, either intentionally or not.
