I am going ridiculously slow today, like beyond dial up slow. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it something I need to fix?

not just you Greenie. I'm on a T-1 over here at work and it's 'pull your hair out' slow for me as well. I checked a few other sites and it looks like it's localized to FORT.

It slow today. It's because of the site going down last night. For the technical among you, I had to recompile Apache, and I lost all of my various httpd tweaks I'd made over the last week. It was adding the gzip module that crashed it last night - apparently, around 11pm, the server decided to restart httpd, and it wouldn't start, causing the server to stay down until I could recompile it.

But now we've lost our customizations on the server for our size, and we've lost our gzip integration - both of which helped tremendously with page speed.

I'll get them back in over the next couple of days.

Ahh, thanks for the heads up John... I was typing my post as you submitted yours . Darn, that sucks losing all that work you did!

I just made a couple of small tweaks, which I hate to do with 700+ people here in case I screw something up, but in about 15 minutes, you should notice a difference.
