Various things from before the upgrade

The pop-ups for Private Messages seem to work only 30% or so of the time...I thought it was just me.

If you have a window open that either is or originally was a "private message" window, you will not receive notifications.

If John's doing another upgrade then the site must have grown a lot. Good job, John!

Nah, we're just 4 versions behind the newest one, and there have been several hundred bugs fixed between ours and the new one.

The server's still keeping up with the load, so no actual moving required this time.

The only thing that has bothered me is deleting PM's.

I wish there was a function where you could put a checkmark next to everyone you want to delete and do a mass delete.
    Instead it's:
    1) Open PM
    2) Click 'delete"
Each PM you have to go through these steps.

Unless I haven't been doing something right.

Maveno, at the main PM screen (Inbox or whichever folder) just check each one on the right and then select "delete" from the drop down list box.

I wondered if I should try to explain this or wait for someone more qualified to come along. I shall try, and hopefully I won't just confuse the hell out of you. I'm not great at explaining stuff.
Anyway, this is how I do it.

    1)Open to Main PM Menu
2)Click on empty box next to the words 'Sent Date' on the right side of the menu

This will check all of the PM boxes

3)Uncheck any PM's you want to keep
4)Scroll to bottom and choose 'Delete' option from the pull down menu next to where it says 'Selected Messages'
    5)Click the 'Go' button

Hope that helps! If not, maybe John can explain it better.

ETA: Randy beat me to it. Hopefully one of us will make sense to you.

Yep, that's it, SG & Randy. I routinely clean out my "sent items" that way.

In the new version, you'll be able to set how many PM's you want per page, like you can with thread views, and that will make this even easier. Plus, message tracking will be back!
