It's actually very convenient as you can use it to take you directly to the new posts in the thread(s) you have subscribed to from your cp by just clicking the down-arrow-button. I was actually just today considering turning off the email notification but keeping the subscriptions....

Okay, this happened to me. I wasn't getting the subscriptions before, but I am now. Did I do something wrong?

This has been happening to me, and I find it annoying. I don't remember doing anything regarding subscribing to threads.

I am all of a sudden having this problem now too... I found (in my profile) where you can uncheck "Send E-mail Notification", but I don't have an option to uncheck "Subcribe without notification" Am I looking in the wrong place?

It was doing the same thing to me yesterday. It hadn't happened before. Wonder why it started up?

Well I still haven't figured out how to not subscribe at all to threads as a default setting... But I am finding it convenient that it marks threads I've participated in on the message table...

Is there any harm in that? If I ignore the threads collecting in my inbox will they just collect to infinity? Or will they eventually age off? Will it slow down or overburden your system in any way?

It doesn't affect the system in any way. I can unsubscribe you from all threads, but I'm not sure that solves your problem...

This is now happening to me also. Every thread I reply to automatically subscribes me to it as that option is the default setting on the reply. The default setting used to be no subscription which is the first one listed on the drop down menu.
