Welcome to America's Next Top Model: China. Last week, Lisa was voted off the island. Who will be voted off this week? We begin with Heather upset about being in last week's bottom 2. She knows she was terrible. Jenah was disturbed to be in the bottom 3 because she basically thought she was da bomb.
TyraMail! Tomorrow it will be time to "Zou" and "Jian". Love, Tyra
Bianca figures it out that it means Go See. The girls are expected to go to 5 top fashion designers in Shanghai and strut their stuff within the alloted time. They're told they must return by 6:00 p.m. and don't be late. Saleisha's first go see is okay, but dull. Chantal forgets to wear, in her words, "nice" underwear. The designer didn't like her fuschia boy shorts under his sheer white dress. Oops. Heather is lost. Seriously. She's lost and trying to find her way around town. Each girl does have a translator with them to help them in the cabs going from place to place, but once they exit the cab, they're on their own. Bianca does great at her first go see. Chantal meets her next designer who gives a thumbs up for print, a thumbs down for catwalk. Meow. Heather is still lost. Her Chinese map is "all Greek to me". Um, okay. Jenah sees her first designer who tells her she looks like Christy Turlington, to which Jenah says, "I am a great model". Yeah, Jenah, we know. You tell us all the time.
We're then brought up to speed with the score and Jenah, Saleisha and Bianca have each had 2 go sees and Chantal has had 3. This leads us back to poor Heather, who has had none so far. I do feel for her, but I'm thinking finding her translator for a little help might have been step one.
Saleisha impresses her next designer. Just then, the heaven's open up, the choir of angels begin singing which could only mean one thing. Heather found her first go see! Hallelujiah!!!! However, her designer feels like she definitely needs to work on her catwalk. Meanwhile, Jenah is criticized for her catwalk as well. This is obviously not the Year of the Catwalk. Saleisha runs into Bianca at the next go see and the claws come out. I'm thinking Saleisha actually wishes she ran over Bianca instead. She doesn't tell Bianca that the next designer is actually right upstairs. Be-YOTCH. Bianca's pissed that Saleisha didn't tell her. Let me spell it out for you Bianca....
C-O-M-P-E-T-I-T-I-O-N.
Time is beginning to dwindle. Jenah is shown with 35 minutes remaining and says yes to trying on another gown. Saleisha has about an hour, but wants to head back. Heather is still wandering around aimlessly and realizes she has lost her cab. Chantal underestimates the traffic and fears she'll be disqualified. Saleisha arrives first, followed by Bianca. They are the only 2 to arrive on time. Jenah arrives 15 minutes late, Chantal arrives 20 minutes late and Heather arrives 40 minutes late. Only Bianca and Saleisha qualify for actually winning the challenge. The girls go out to what they think is just another hip spot. But, the modeling agency owner shows up to tell them the results of the challenge. She says that Bianca lights up a room with her smile, but she is a bit nervous. Saleisha's personality is great, but her pictures are all the same. With that a floating barge goes by and by some strange coincidence it has Bianca's picture on it! Bianca is declared the winner of the challenge.
TyraMail! No lion, it will take a lot of pride to get through this shoot. Love, Tyra
Jay and Nigel (!) arrive and their photoshoot is to be standing amongst Chinese lions and dragons. During makeup Jenah's attitude arrives in the form of major sarcasm. Me thinks mouthing off to the judge, who is also your photographer for the shoot, is not wise. It's too bad Jenah's attitude didn't show up late for the photoshoot.
Jenah's shoot just flopped. She fell flat and she started to freak. Saleisha's shoot was confident. Bianca has the fake smile, but manages to break out of it and has a good shoot. Chantal forces her pose, while giggling, but gets a shot. Heather can't quite get her positioning and she has really lost her confidence.
TyraMail! Tomorrow, you will meet with the judges. Only 4 will continue on in the hope of becoming America's Next Top Model. Love, Tyra
Off to the judging room. After review of the faaaabulous prizes, Tyra tells the girls the 4 remaining models will go to Beijing! Yippeeee!!
First the critique:
- Chantal - likeable, sweet and needs flesh colored undies. She breaks concentration, but does get a kick ass shot
- Bianca - great body language, but she forgot about her facial expressions. She's not fluid
- Jenah - diverse portfolio, but needs to be more personable. Great pictures, but her sarcasm comes off as arrogant
- Saleisha - Nigel's favorite person to shoot. She has great energy and she pushed the envelope to edgy.
- Heather - needs a Top Model Ass Whoopin'. Great shot, but very stiff
Judges deliberate and decide who goes to Beijing:
- Bianca - Agency loved it. Nigel didn't. Too much work to get the shot
- Heather - her look is good, but she has poor communication
- Saleisha - confident, on the edge of the steps of high fashion
- Chantal - needs confidence
- Jenah - personality is getting away from her

Jenah and Heather called up together

Heather is headed back to the States. She said the experience was so worth it and she was hoping that her Asperger's wouldn't be such a big deal. Heather, I think you did great and you have a lot to be proud of. Hold your head up high girl!!
Next week we head to Beijing, where 4 models minus 1 model equals top 3!
