Maybe Tyra thought that a bad attitude was a quicker fix than 10 pounds.

Of course, who goes to a job interview acting a damn fool? Most wait until they get the job and then start clowning. I'm sure Brandy's crazy ass will be fired soon.

    ROFL!!!!

She should have gotten fired last night! Nigel is sweet to everyone, and she just snapped at him like: "You kept me waiting and I'm sleepy now!" Who the hell does THAT in a competition? Then she basically MADE them give her a makeover. All that frou-la-la about the knots in her weave could have been cured with a comb and some warm water. LOL she probably thought "In previous cycles the person that got the least madeover was the one sent home. I'm gonna make sure they spend MONEY on me if I'm going home tonight!!" And then she had the nerve to shriek about it!

Man, I liked Brandy but after last night I just don't know.

Nole is one to talk - a side of beef? Well, if Brita is a side of beef then he must be the whole cow!!!!!

I personally would ideally like to see the straight-size industry diversify somewhat - all models with beautiful, healthy bodies and pleasing proportions, of course. I don't buy the "clothes hang well only on a size two" rule. (I know having the girls relatively the same size is said to make fitting simpler, but imo some extra effort should be invested there.) Still, this show has to be somewhat realistic about the current standards, and it already pushes the boundaries.

While I think it was snarky to compare Brita to a side of beef, she definitely had the elimination coming to her. Models have the responsibility to take care of their bodies just as dancers and athletes do; that's their art, and she neglected it.

Also, Toccara being plus size is an entirely different matter. There exists a market for that in fashion, but not for someone like Brita. (Ironically, it's the healthy/average size for most women that's not represented.)

Jay used the side of beef comment to describe Ann last year. It doesn't mean they are fat. It means they look dead. Like a big piece of dead meat just lying there.

And about body image, this is a modeling competition. Pretty much these women are competing to become living hangers. I don't know why people are getting bent out of shape about this. My cat probably weighs more then Carmen Cass. That's the industry.

He said she looked like "a dead slab of meat" () in the context of not having enough energy. I believe that's different? (I don't know the context in which Nole said it. I haven't watched the show yet.)

Ann... more models should have bodies like her, just amazingly gorgeous. In the Project Runway finale, Kara Saun said she cast models based on strong walks and not being too skinny, and then while measuring Ann, asked if she was a size two or four... so models can even be the desired size and not look gaunt.

I was waiting for someone to remind us all that the "side (slab) of beef comment" has been used on people before on ANTM, and has NOTHING to do with size. They do use that comment to refer to people who just sort of lay/sit there like a log, giving no emotion in their work, taking dead pictures. No one really cared about Brita's size because Yoanna was within 2 pounds of her weight, if I'm not mistaken, and she won.

In the end they based the elimination solely on the pictures, and I think if Brandy hasn't been acting like a spoiled 12 year old, Brita and another girl they critiqued would have been in the bottom two, still with Brita going home. She is a beautiful girl, lovely, no doubt, but she didn't take a good picture, and that's the bottom line.

I don't think sending Brandy home would have made sense. She was obnoxious and whiny, but if we threw out everyone on the show who had a problem the first time, they only people on the show would be the camera men. Janice Tyra, Jay, Miss Jay, the girls.. all gone. Seriously, what would Brandy have learned from being sent home? With a little luck, she'll realize that a bad attitude can blow everything and she'll shut up.

But I doubt it... Considering that an upcoming show supposedly features an argument between two girls, one advising the other to chill... (Tiffany and Brandy, anyone?)

Cassie's problem is not that she is overweight, but one of proportion. She's built small on the top and big on the bottom. It's a body type. I don't know that it would ever be possible for her to have the right body for modelling, because she'd have to be skeletal on top in order to shrink her thighs and hips to acceptable proportions. That said, she has a perfectly great body for a *woman*, not a model.

Brita, on the other hand, has a true hourglass figure. But unless she's wearing something that shows how tiny her waist is, she's in danger of looking slightly chunky by model standards. Especially if she's not very toned--which, let's face it, she wasn't. In the alien photo shoot, her waist was hidden. And her whole pose looked kind of dead. That's what I thought Nole was referring to, mostly.

I honestly think the only reason why people think Nole's comment had anything to do with Brita's weight, was because of the way they presented it in the commercial. They did his voiceover as they showed a clip of Ms.Jay measuring her posterior.

When he actually said it, It was after or near the time when Nigel or Jay said she wasn't serving anything. When he said it, he said it during a poor performance, and bullshit aside, it WAS a poor performance.

And honestly, I'm quite happy Nole said it, cause anything's better than hearing him say FABULOUS 54736835683568 times. Notice, that is a hyperbole.

And on the topic of general body image, i'm 5'5 and weight 117, and look like I weigh 110 and i'm a male, and this show does make me feel like I, of all people should lose weight, haha.
