Walking the "Tyra Tightrope" is tricky business. (Wow. That turned out to be an alliteration free-for-all!)

Tyra seems to want the public to view her as a wonderful, benevolent, accessible person. As a result (or maybe because she really is a nice person...who's to say), she seems to want the women to confide in her. But they should forget that this is just a long job interview process, and she's the big boss. It's a really strange situation.

I think the smart contestant will throw her some crumbs of emotion and enough of a story for her to think the person is good television without letting their emotions get out of hand enough for her to think that they're going to be trouble.

She got a bit burned by Shandi last time (although Shandi's meltdown was great TV), and I would think that she will be watching to see if any of them have insecurities that are big enough that they could lead to problems down the road.
    Seeking form amidst the void.

But if that's not possible, gimme a Margarita...shaken, not stirred...and hold the salt, please.

I can understand that, she is not their friend and neither their enemy, well at least not in my opinion. Tyra is doing her job just like any other professional out there at the end of the day.

    Oh, I agree.

With regard to Adrianne's comment: I can understand why Adrianne feels disillusioned and mopey, but Tyra isn't able to guarantee the winner's success. (Yoanna, at least, has acknowledged this.) Sure, maybe the Revlon contract was a disappointment, but Adrianne has received exposure, the Marie Claire spreads, and the Wilhelmina and diamond contracts all thanks to Tyra. I think she very well ought to consider her a friend.

Tyra is a nice lady, but for the duration of the contest, she CAN'T be their friend - she's one of the judges. There's something kind of sketchy about a judge going around having heart-to-hearts with all the girls like that. In my opinion, they should be judged on whether or not they can do the job, not whatever issues they have with mom and dad. In my (limited) understanding of the modeling world, models don't get hired because they can throw on some clothes and work it. Whatever personal issues they may have are immaterial, so long as they don't interfere with the ability to get the job done.

I also must assume that Adrienne has completely given up on modeling. Either that, or the concept of "burning one's bridges" is completely foreign to her.

I'm gonna have to agree with the people who say she look like she got punched in the face a couple of times. Plus that dress doesn't do anything for her, from what we can see in that picture.

Regarding the green dress picture - there doesn't seem to be anything really wrong with the makeup, hair or dress, it's just a really unflattering picture. To me it looks like she just didn't want her picture taken.
