Would you watch a male version of ANTM?

So Miss Tyra has said that she doesn't think having a male version of ANTM is a good idea...Is it because those photos of her that come before each judgment ceremony (you know, where she recreates whatever the models did that week) will look even sillier than they already do when she's dressed up in Drag King regalia?

What's your opinion? Is there a demand for a male version? Mayhaps TyTy & UPN would reconsider?

Yea I heard Tyra say on the Ryan secrest show that she doesnt think anyone would watchdd and because theres only one big name male model(tyson) so there would be no point. Since there are very few male models thats made a big name for themselves, I think a show like this could change that. Plus does she not realise that most people who are watching the show are female? All girls love seeing hot guys.

Not only would I watch a male version of ANTM, I think it's about damn time.

All my girlfriends are young, educated professionals who insist on a culture of equality. There is absolutely no reason why a show objectifying males would be less interesting than one on females. The only resistance is from those who have subconciously internalized ideas of male dominance in this society and are uncomfortable with a shifting of power. More than anything it's insecure men and older women who prevent these shows from happening. If I read about one more midwestern housewife writing hate letters to a school for showing Michelangelo's David, I'll scream. It's a penis people! A relatively small, unexceptional piece of meat. For goodness sakes, everyone might as well hide their fingers because they're penis shaped. Let's all wear baggy cloth boxers on our penis shaped fingers.

Anyhoo, anyone with half a brain knows that female sexuality is a powerful thing. Done right, a male ANTM could tap into that power just as Tiger Beat, Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, Elvis, Beatles, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, etc. did. Sex and the City resonated so well because it shows that women discuss sex, ogle men, watch porn, etc. No more with virginal princesses in ivory towers waiting to be rescued by a penis toter. That's so Kimberly from "Different Strokes" and look what happened to her... bulimia, armed robbery, drug use....

While I tend to agree with Tyra that a male version probably wouldn't be successful, I'd be there oggling the beef with everyone here. I think that maybe a unisex version like the austalian show does would work, though.

I would go for the Y chromosomes are icky (no girls = no drama) but I'll probably check out a few episodes to see how it looks like.

I'm glad that I got to "discover" ANTM this year, but it happened by chance. I have kind of a "Two Degrees to Separation" with Mercedes so it became interesting to watch. I don't think however, that a male version would do that well. Let's face it, there's ALOT of male models who are, let's say, "on the other team." Now, there could be some funny moments of "mistaken preference", but beyond that, I don't see it being that entertaining. Plus, men have a tendency to not be as conflict-driven as women, hence, not as many Yoanna-to-Camillie moments. Just my opinion.
