    About the show.

    From the official site:
Who will be America's Next Producer?

From the producers of Project Runway and Top Chef comes a new original reality competition – America’s Next Producer.
Ten aspiring producers get the chance to prove they have what it takes to create the next generation of TV hits.

In each episode, contestants will face innovative challenges that put their creative skills to the test.
Contestants compete each week to survive elimination rounds.
The winner will receive the ultimate TV producer prize package: $100,000 cash, a production office in Hollywood, and a first look deal with TV Guide Network.

I hadn't even heard of this before, but it looks interesting to me. I know absolutely nothing about performing arts production (thanks for the definitions, ), but I'm going to give it a go.

Okay, what five people get this channel anyway?

Really, closer to 81 million than 5, but who's quibbling over a few million?

The show will be "full-screen", since the TVGC relaunched itself last month. They're getting away from on-screen guides, and are starting to air original programming.

Oy, can none of the networks come up with anything original in programming anymore? Next producer, next top model, next Nashville star, next this, next that. Boring

    Re: About the show.

Unfortunately, I think the age of invention for reality shows is pretty much over. Network execs have found what people want to watch, and that's what they're serving up.

And when execs try something new, a la Pirate Master, people tune out in droves, which only reinforces the concept.

Me, I prefer the new-concept shows, and will give them a shot based solely on having something original.
