Then I found out it wasn't his arrangement.

Even though I give David credit for being vey upfront about a few of his early performances being "covers of a cover" that came across to many as VERY original versions, that he was being appluaded for essentially copying someone else's creativity did bother me for a while. However, after using other people's creativity as inspiration on songs like Hello and Billie Jean, as the season went on, David proved that he could use those as inspiration for his own creativity, and do the same thing to other songs on his own. Unless there's an obscure cover out there that I'm not aware of, the twist he put on Always Be My Baby was his own.

After using other people's arrangements as a crutch for a couple of weeks, David showed that he was very comfortable in doing such work on his own -- and he did it quite well. There were very very few performances of David in the last 6 weeks or so of the show where he did not put his own personal twist on a song. With some he was more original than others. But there weren't really any songs he did that you could anticipate every beat of the arranegement by being used to hearing the original. For this reason, I think that David proved that he's got his own talent in arranging.

The whole time he was singing that "winner's song" or whatever you call it - No One Can Take This Moment Away From Me, I suppose it's called - I felt like he was singing it straight to his father... hence the passion. What an awful song that was!

David was incredible this week. I wish him much success!

I find him quite adorable. I like his 'awww shucks' personality and think he has a fanatastic voice.
I look forward to hearing more from him. This has just been the start of what I think and hope will be a very successful career.
I just hope they don't rush him into making sub-par albums or let him burn out in a bid to cash in on his popularity. I think he's built a lasting fan base which will support him while he blossoms further.

on a side note.. the jonas brothers.. I know they are mostly for the tweenies and all but their performance was actually pretty good.. it looked like a mini rock show!

CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVID ARCHULETO!! He is a WINNER as well. Even though he didn't take first place in the competition, he took first place in the hearts of millions and showed what a true talent he is at such a young age. We have not seen the last of this David. I wish him MUCH SUCCESS in his future!!

DA, he didn't seem too down, disappointed that he lost. Good for him. The way he took the runner up position showed a lot of maturity. Tuesday evening it seemed like wanted to win so much.
