Strange happenings!

David Archuleta has two songs on iTunes this morning that are not AI songs. Funny thing is: the name is Merrick Christensen not David Archuleta.

Someone called me and told me to do a search for the name Merrick Christensen and then listen. I did. It's is Archuleta, not argument. The songs are Christian.

What could this be about?

This is great! Maybe they'll kick Archie out and bring Jason back in!

Hmmm... I can't think of any plausible reason for Archie to release gospel music under a pseudonym, and right before the finale, of all times. Maybe it's so people who figure out it's him, and who are very strong about their faith, will vote for him after listening?

I think I see now. The problem for me is I take the posts at face value.

I'm not big on all the articles, blogs, blurbs, etc, about AI. I don't watch the gossip TV shows or read the gossip magazines. I watch the show, and, when I'm fortified, I come in here and read. So, when posters start taking about things not mentioned here I get lost.

In the end, it's not about 'Team Archuleta' for me. It's about a very talented kid that I enjoy listening to as well as watching. I wish both David's well. I think they're both talented and deserving of the title.

The only thing that upsets me about this season is there's no studio version of Stand By Me. It's the only other song I would have purchased from this season.

I think it's neck & neck... too close to call. Since I've been so torn, Archie gets my votes just due to negativity alone. Cook's thread is full of love & support, therefore I'm gonna spread some Archie love. I hope he wins, just cause!

It appears that this guy (kid... he sounds like he might be as young as David) recorded some songs with David. He did the guitar and wrote the lyrics/melody and David sang. He just released the recordings onto itunes.

He has a website with a blog if you just search on his name.com

I love his voice but his overuse of melisma drives me batty. I would love to hear him just sing a song straight up the way it was written. His voice is good enough to do the song justice as is, but apparently he's been schooled in that style of singing. Too bad....

Since they pulled DC's self-recorded album from Amazon, I would think this is against Idol rules. I guess someone thought it would be a way to make some money. The question is whose bright idea was this?

Seems a bit unfair that he didn't credit David at all with the singing and everything... (did he?)
