| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 Not getting water isn't one of the red flags that I have read. But that article really proves nothing other than he and his father are on the same page press release wise. And if his Dad is having as much input as David states in that article, David should be disquailified.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I totally despise users & manipulators & Jeff A is just that! Parents or not... I don't take crap from my parents, He did not choose "that" as his daddy! Therefore, I say his dad can shove it straight up! Hopefully he will tell his dad just that! ![]() P.S I don't like Tiger Woods either! Puke! Quote:

Agreed, David acts like a "zombie" at times, but whether or not it is due to his father's coaching or his individual personality isn't for us to judge. Unless it is documented that Jeff is a "control freak" and whips David into submission, then I would say that is going too far. But as a lay public person, we don't know how his family is otherwise, and to judge them without a fair understanding of how they inter-relate on a personal level just is NOT fair - and isn't really ANY of OUR business. Not sticking up for him, but just presenting this in a broader light. David's a VERY nice kid - I wish there were more of his type in this world, to be totally honest. He's OLD school, and how often do we see that anymore ... someone who ACTUALLY respects his parents? ![]() As for Tiger, how can you NOT admire the guy? He is arguably the "World's Greatest Golfer of ALL-TIME", and will likely break ALL known golfing records by the time he retires. He has also been very open about his respect and admiration of his father, and as much as we may disagree with his dad's modus operandi, it worked, and turned out a GREAT human being in Tiger. We might all be jealous of his success, but I feel that is something that should be admired, and not disrespected. ![]()

On the other hand, the bystander who has suffered abuse will look at the same situation and be enraged at the possibility of yet another young victim being hurt, while an embarrassed public looks away, not wanting to get involved in something that's none of their business. Just saying, there are no easy answers. That's why it's good to read you and others putting up different points of view here.

Their second problem is that it's so late in the season. What would they do for the final three? Cancel the show? Just let everyone pass on to next week? Bring back Jason Castro so they could throw him off again? There are no good options.

I'm not going to judge who's closer to the truth, but contrary to TV Guides assertion, here is someone else with first hand knowledge going on record saying that David was under pressure from Papa.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I loved when Simon said "it's like chihuahua trying to be a tiger" on the Chris Brown song. that just defined the whole song.

And it turns out that, with or without Daddy present to coach him, Archuleta sings the exact same way. So that's the only way he knows to handle a song (no real surprise there) and he's apparently quite capable of conveying his wishes to the band without a translator (or the band leader just mutters, "It's Archuleta, guys -- you know what to do").
