For those that keep asking why he doesn't sing fast songs...the producers won't let him it seems. He picked a fast song for last week but it got thrown out by the producers. His voice coach at home explains here.

In my opinion, humble though it is, David Cook has incredible control over his voice; better than Archie, who can't control his breathing or his lower register.

As to David Cook's voice control, I guess it's easy enough to control when it only whines one note. The only reason he's still in the competition is because he fits the rocker niche. No way he'll sell more albums than Archie. Simon knows talent when he sees it, and he knows Archie has it. Cook sometimes has it, but not nearly as consistently.

I disagree. MOTN was a multi-faceted vocal display. He did not whine and he hit low and high notes with incredible control.

Also, David Cook, NOT Archuleta has led iTunes sales ever since ABMB. So, if future success is rated on current sales trends, Cookie wins.

David Cook is still in the competition because he has millions of fans who vote to keep him in because we know and see his passion for music and hear how talented he is each and every week. And Simon is on record that he wants David Cook to win. David's actually one of the more consistent contestants this season....

I'm not saying Archuleta isn't a good singer, he is. I don't also doubt that he'd sell records, it will just be interesting to see how he develops as an artist and if he had the longevity factor, which I don't see as of now.

I don't think my problem with Cook is his voice. I think it's the fact that some of his "original" performances can be traced back to other versions of that particular song so he doesn't come off as fresh to me as he does to his fans. I felt the opposite about Blake, who did it sometimes. I don't know. I'd rather hear someone that sounds the same every week (Archuleta) than someone who I watch and wonder if he's just drawing from some other version of the original song. So I think Archuleta's the better singer and Cook's the better performer.

By 7pm David is gonna be dead tired. Hopefully he can pull out a good performance for the playoff game! Hope we can see it!

Come on people, how can this lovely, nice, sheltered kid with a great voice be the next Idol? I don't get it.
