Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 It's too bad that Archie didn't wait 2 or 3 years before trying out. He would have had time to grow up a little, for his voice to develop (can he grow out of that breathy thing?), to find a musical voice, and to get distance from his stage dad. As it is, he seems to have grown up in the world of competetitions where the goal is to get the trophy, and move on to the next competetion. I don't get the idea that he realizes that this is the end of the line for organized competetions, and that the next challenge is real life and a (perhaps musical) career.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I came to this thread to try to find out what people like about this kid, but I can see that, much like my wife and me, people are really tired of this one trick pony. (In tribute to him, as I type this, I have one hand out to the side, palm up, and I'm waving it around slightly...) Why do the judges NEVER comment about his absolute LACK of stage presence/personality. Simon RIPPED Chris Daughtry for lacking personality. Do they think that he'll break down and cry, or that they'll get sued for abusing a minor??

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 David A. was pimped so much at the beginning, when the judges praise did not equal the viewers feelings, the backlash began. He's a nice kid, but he is not more talented than those left, he may be less so. I think he is in real trouble of being in the bottom, if not this week, than next. He does not have what it takes.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I think we have to go all the way back to Season 3 & Fantasia to find a contestant that has been so relentlessy over praised week after week for no reason other that audience manipulation. Archie has so far rearranged some of the greatest song writers ever & sometimes such as Sweet Caroline, never found the melody. But, he's is here till the bitter end.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I love Neil Diamond's music and that is why I was so disappointed in hearing my two favorites - Sweet Caroline and Coming to America rearranged so much that the melody had virtually disappeared. NOT GOOD David! The praising for his performance by Randy was ridiculous. To use Simon's words - very forgettable! I certainly hope he doesn't win. I actually liked Jason's low key rendition of two lovely songs. I think he sang them the way they were intended to be sung.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 To say the least. If Randy is praising THAT, he has no credibility. I'd rather listen to Paula,...her trying to figure where she is, and what time it is. ![]() People were complaining about Sanjaya last year. At least Sanjaya was entertaining. Archuleta is just terrible. And once again when Ryan tried to talk to him... Archuleta came off like he is brain dead, completely moronic. He was looking for words, like his head is absolutely empty. There is no spontaneity, personality, or wit. It's like he doesn't exist, unless he is memorizing and training everything that might happen on stage. Why doesn't he go on a tour of retirement homes in Florida? Stop bothering show business.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 He doesn't have much of a personality does he? I can't imagine trying to talk to him (even if I was 17). I can see discussing music with David C. (we share alot of the same tastes), taking it easy with Jason and hanging out, or heck discussing child care with Brooke!
